The Kennedys for this debate was John F Kennedy for the Democratic party and for the Republican Party Richard M Nixon. Kennedy was more of a charismatic Ladies Man type of guy so he did well on TV. Nixon was not a ladies man and he was very sweaty and nervous on TV. The first televised debate was a big deal because people all over the world got to see the presidents debate over serious topics.</div>]]></description>

Solviets sent Sputnik 1 into space in 1957 and in April 1961 the first man orbited the earth Yuri Gagarin. America created NASA but still was intimidated by solviets. America started to step up their game and sent someone to land on the moon.&nbsp;Neil Armstrong in July 1969 was the first human to ever step on the moon. </div>]]></description>

Many people's Sons husbands uncles and brothers went to war. With the drafting age at just 18 many boys had to grow up fast. Mostly poor or African-Americans were drafted because they couldn't find a way out of the war. Mostly 2.5 million mens served in Vietnam. People and families in America worried about their sons and family. Most of them never got to see them again.</div>]]></description>

Medicare were for people who were on the social security system and were 65 and older. People could now get healthcare and not worry as much about paying the costs.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Eisenhower authorized the CIA (central intelligence agency) which started the bay of pigs invasion. On April 17, 1961 the CIA led force attacked. The forces were ill equipped they had no protective power or cover. All but 300 of the 1,400 invaders were killed. This mission failed. Kennedy felt like it was his fault for the fail.</div>]]></description>

East coast cities and Panama Canal were right in the way of the missiles. Kennedy blamed Nikita Khrushchev and demanded the removal of the missiles but didn't do it quietly he did it over television on October 22,1962. He thought<br>it was "reakless and provocative threat to world peace". Kennedy said that he would remove U.S. Missiles in turkey and Italy if they removed their missiles in Cuba. </div>]]></description>

Lee Harvey Oswald was on the 6th floor of a building when he shot Kennedy in the back of the head. No one knows if anyone was with Oswald but the nation described him as the "Lone killer". This didn't just effect his family it did the whole nation. People felt the loss of innocence when he died</div>]]></description>
