My Dish

The dish I had cooked were cassava fries. The way I made the dish was by peeling the yucca root(cassava) then my dad had to cut it into rectangular shapes. Then I had boiled it in water. After I placed them on a pan covering it with chili pepper and olive oil. Finally I took them out the oven and they were done. To be honest they didn’t taste that good.

All three Cayman Islands are flat limestone with low elevation with some woodland with no rivers. But the Cayman Islands are known for the beach and the different places to visit by the beach. In the Cayman Islands they do have hurricanes and sometimes really strong high wind hurricanes. Summer there usually is May through October. People usually go visit the Grand Cayman during the beginning of winter because that is when the summer storms usually diminish. Winter starts after hurricane season and last till April or May.

I didn’t choose the Cayman Islands but after researching about it and it’s history the Cayman Islands seems like a really fun place I would like to visit. There at the Cayman Islands it is a tourist place people would go to see the beaches, try their food and visit Stingray city and starfish point. It would be the perfect vacation. Before I had never even heard of this Island before but I’m really glad I did.

Trouble In Paradise

Although the Cayman Islands seem like a perfect place and resort they are having problems on a tax haven. Tax haven is a country or independent area where taxes are levied at a low rate. The Cayman Islands are having a problem with tax havens because they have a bad effect with prices on wages of workers in the financial area. Also tax havens help rich people hide money and they make the less fortunate people pay the taxes of rich people.

The best-known novel about Cayman Life was written by Richard Matthiessen where he wrote about the life of a turtle boat captain the relationship between man and nature in a changing society. His book didn’t make a big impact on the world but whoever read it could have looked at living in the Cayman Islands differently and not just a vacation spot.
