This subject will help me conduct research ethically and to note of the important protocols needed before handling organisms. Also it will help me conduct research that can be accessed in countries that have ethical protocols.

I expect to be enlightened with the necessary protocols to conduct research ethically. Also to practice my critical thinking skills in identifying issues in my research. I also expect to become aware of the published ethical guidelines by DOST so that I can follow them. Also ethical guidelines from other countries could help expose me to the global protocols. Another is to learn how different groups in the society participate in creating an ethical research community and what the political landscape in the country do to make research accessible and ethical in the Philippines.

Expectations:
I expect to learn with guidance how research is conducted with proper awareness to the current standards, proper methods, etc. set by regulating bodies. 

I think with these bodies such as the ethical committees, we will be able to be responsible to know what is feasible and what is faulty. Most importantly, the questions that would arise from the general population which could prove your study to be with the presence of misconduct or fabrication. 

The ethical committees as far as my analogy goes, is equally as important as a parent, a facilitator, or a teacher in terms of human development and it is needed for a researcher to be guided on the do's and dont's, for example: in bioresearch we are limited to the experimental organisms that we can use as a test subject in the lab such as C. elegans, Mus Musculus, D. melanogaster.

It will serve as our guidance in conducting a responsible and ethical research. As a medical student, this will train me to become better and more ethical.
