Unlike the other article, this article is on the side of having homework, it gives 14 reasons why it is important. It gives good points like how homework improves thinking and memory, and how it helps you learn how to study more effectively. To the writer of this article homework seems to be a necessity and they give very good points to explain why.

This article is against homework and it talks about even kid that are six years old are getting up to an hour of homework a night. It thinks that if they are given too much work in the evening, they will be too tired to do anything else. I agree with that fact that young kids shouldn't be given a large amount of work every night, but they should have to work a little bit everyday.

This article talks about how homework should be given, but at a constant amount. Not too much at a time and not any times with none. It likes the idea of giving homework because they believe it will reinforce the things they learn in class.

This video clip was a news topic from an Arizona area new station. The news anchors brought up what homework was like when they were growing up, and they were saying how it is nearly not as much as now. They also talked about both sides of the topic. Children growing up back when they were were much less stressed. Studies show that homework is only very beneficial to people who are in eleventh and twelfth grade. These news anchors believe that there should be a limit on homework so that it does not cut away from the students extra-curricular activities. Extra-curricular activities are great opportunities that many children should have, and they say it should not be limited by homework.

CBS makes this clip. This clip has a student who compares homework to slavery. He says how slavery has been abolished for over a hundred years, and that schools have been illegally run for that long. The student, has been backed up by an author. The author wrote a book about the debate if homework should still be in schools. Middle schoolers who spend 60-90 minutes of homework a night end up doing less well on their standardized tests. The students voice got heard across, he created a petition and went around for people to sign it. Everybody he went to agreed with the petition except for his principal. He believes that if there s homework then he should at least get extra credit for it instead of it being counted regularly.
