Ruth might've passed out because she works hard for her family to be afloat. This shows the essential question because people have to work harder than other people with more money and opportunities.

These quotes show that the dreams that Mama had werent able to be achieved because of their money problem. And Ruth backing it up saying that life can be disappointing shows that there is a real struggle without money.

This quote shows that white people have more advantages than native Americans, they get away with most things because they are wealthy and are white so it is harder for native Americans to succeed
