(Include different types of psychological treatments as well as medications).

One type of treatment is psychotherapy.

Psychotherapy is very effective with changing negative thoughts into positive ones. The way it works the best is through CBT ( Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) which will significantly reduce someones anxiety.

The other way of treatment is through medication.

serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are usually the first general type of drug tried to reduce anxiety. These medicines come in the form of Paxil and Zoloft.

Other medications that could be prescribed for social anxiety disorder are the serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) and Effexor XR.

The doctors will start with a low dose and gradually get up into the full dosage of the medicine.

Pick one therapy and explain more in depth how this therapy is used for your disorder/when this therapy should be used.

The therapy we will be picking is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explain the immense help it gives to social anxiety disorder. The first thing that helps immensely in calming your self is mindfulness. There is a trick to control your emotional temperature that is by using your five senses. This can be observing the way something tastes, to just looking at something and observing the texture. When the person with social anxiety disorder is doing this, they are putting all of their attention on the object and that works as a distraction and a calming strategy. Another calming CBT skill is guided meditation. This will calm them down and reduce anxiety by focusing on their breathing and slowing down their heart rate. In all, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an easy way to reduce stress and practice managing emotions.

Ronald Bilius Weasley is one of the most prominent in the 8 movie series, "Harry Potter" which was written by J.K. Rowling in a series of 7 books.

You should include a summary of why you diagnosed your character with the disorder you are studying.

Ronald Bilius Weasley fits the DSM-V criteria for Social Anxiety Disorder. He has a huge fear of being judged on a social level, with the idea that people will think that he is not good enough. He does not leave his room at all until the hallways are completely empty, showing that his disorder has a huge impact on his personal life because it causes him to isolate himself. It has gotten to the point where he even drinks potions that are forbidden, giving him the same effects of Butter-beer, which only wizards of the age of 21+ can drink. It cannot be specified as Major Depressive Disorder because he does not have any suicidal tendencies and all of his negative thoughts have a clear connection to his fear of being around other people.

Provide specific symptoms that the character shows that correspond to the specific diagnosis.

Panic attacks when it comes to social situations.

Always fears what others will think of him.

Scared of exploring the unknown.

Only feels safe around his two closest friends.
