For my first piece of evidence, it is important to look at the motive for Adnan. Prosecutor Casey Murphy told the jury, “He saw his parents standing at the window of the homecoming dance. He saw his mother raise her voice at Hae Lee in front of his classmates. ‘Look what you’re doing to our family.’ He saw the pain in his mother’s face because she knew they were together. And he saw himself, in the end, standing there with nothing to show for it but a guilty conscience and a pack of lies in which he cloaked himself” ("The Breakup"). The Prosecutor's words were used to paint a picture for the jury, that Adnan had killed Hae because of his religious guilt following the breakup. Adnan is a Muslim who was not supposed to date before getting married. After the breakup, it had affected him in the sense that he went against his God for nothing.

Jay's response to police's questioning, "I get out the car. He asks me, am I ready for this? And I say, ready for what? And he takes the keys. He opens the trunk. And all I can see is Hae's lips are all blue, and she's pretzeled up in the back of the trunk. And she's dead" ("The Alibi"). When Jay witnesses Hae's body, by his description we learn that Hae's body wasn't placed neatly but just thrown in the back. Knowing that, it shows how Adnan did not feel particularly bad about murdering his ex-girlfriend. It is not normal or innocent to have a dead body in your trunk, not to mention showing it to people casually.

Prior to Hae's disappearance, Adnan had mentioned that he would kill her. Looking back at "The Alibi", we are told by Jay that Adnan said he was going to kill Hae over the phone. Now this is not the first time was hear of Adnan talking about killing Hae. Police had found a note written in pen located at Adnan's house. Hae had written a letter stating how she could not understand why Adnan could not get over the breakup. Adnan, clearly angry, had written on the back "I'm going to kill" ("The Case Against Adnan Syed"). His anger could be from Hae moving on so quickly or from how much he sacrificed for their relationship.
