Part time job- serving customers, taking phone calls in a pub and working with others. This has developed my communication skills as it has given me confidence to speak to people of all ages. This is good as it also gives me good customer service skills.

Making new friends- Speaking about our interests and working together. This improved my communication skills as i had to speak to new people about college and our interests. This is good as it put me out of my comfort zone. What i could've improved on is having confident to talk to more people.

Teamwork Activity 1

On our induction week we did sports activities like volleyball with people we didn't know yet. This improved my teamwork skills as we all had to work together to win. What went well was that we all gave each other positions to stand in while playing. Although i could've improved this by being more confident in speaking to others whilst playing.

Also on our induction week we all got into teams to try build a stable chair out of just a few balloons and some cello tape. This improved my teamwork skills as we all had to communicate with each other and share our ideas on how we would make it work. This went well as my group won as it was the most stable out of everyone, but one thing i could improve on is how much i communicated my ideas.

In one of our Monday morning lessons with saffron we made a quilt out of papers with pour names on and a fact about our self's and some string to put it together. This improved our teamwork skills as a group because we all had to work out how to make it into a quilt together. This was good as it made us talk to each other about how to successfully do this. What we could've done better is getting more people involved so it wasn't just a few people getting involved.

I show up to all my lessons on time at college every day and this shows that I am reliable as my teachers know that I will always show up to their lessons so they can start their day on time too.

I currently work in a pub as a bartender, serving people drinks and snacks and I also make sure that the pub is clean and tidy for the customers by collecting their glasses and cleaning tables. I ensure that all the customers are happy and deal with any complaints and try my best to resolve the problem. If I had this job in the future I would be much more confident with certain customers as sometimes people speak to me like I don't know what to do as I am younger. Although from this work experience I have achieved a lot of confidence and I have learnt a lot of skills in different areas of work.

Evidence 2: Charity Raise

At college, my group decided to raise money for Barnsley Hospice by selling things we have baked at home and making a raffle for people to win prizes and then we got our teacher, Adam involved and we raised even more money from people giving him a pie to the face for charity. This event went really well as we managed to raise around £180 for Barnsley Hospice. If I had to do this again I would work harder to get more people to come over to where we are holding the event so we could raise more money. I achieved some good social skills from speaking to new people and I give them my best customer service.

I also work at a greyhound racing kennels which is quite different to working in a pub as I am dealing with animals rather than people. If I had to do this again in the future I would be a lot confident knowing that I am completely fine speaking to new people. Although, I feel like I have achieved better social skills as I have had to work with older people than me that I have never met before and this has brought me out of my comfort zone.
