Some new things I learned are:

  1. Presence of mind in conversation builds trust and rapport. Lack of presence communicates disinterest, impatience and unreliability.

  2. If possible avoid note taking during meetings and other conversations as it can put a wedge between you and your counterparty. Have faith in yourself to remember what is important as this helps focus on the important big ideas without being distracted by the minutia.
