Dorito Ad
Perceptual Set: We expect to see a very basic ad about Doritos and a bunch of people eating those Doritos but we end up getting a very shocking but funny ad instead, it sticks with you.
Context Effects: Since this is a Dorito ad you would expect the ad to talk about cheese, tortilla chips and eating.
Priming: In this commercial, since it's a Dorito ad, they do show a bad of Doritos, people eating those Doritos, and a bunch of hungry and satisfied noises. However, you are met with a mix of something else as well.
Emotion: The emotion for this ad is suppose to be comical and show that the chips are so good a baby would want it.
Motivation: This ad motivates people to be shocked and expect the chips to be good.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0VWwY6MR0k

Perceptual Set is a mental set is a predisposition to perceive certain things and not others. In this commercial we expect to see a new and improved iphone that is strong and different.
Context Effects is how context affects our perceptions based on our experience. Based on previous buys of the iphone, if you like the phone you will like the products and like the new one that is shown in the commercial. You will think that it is a good iphone or the opposite of you've had bad experience with it.
Priming is the activation of certain associations that predispose us to think about a object, memory, experience etc. In this commercial you see the resistibility, the camera quality, and the waterproofness of the iphone. After seeing all this, you now want to buy the iphone.
Emotion is the state of feeling which influences our perception by predisposing us to certain things based on the emotion. The music in the background sounds like you're achieving something when you buy it. It also shows in the commercial everyday objects that we could relate to. In this video in particular it shows ducks, and baby toys... which is something we experience in our everyday life.
Motivation are the processes and drives which lead you to make decisions, which influences perception by making your sense disposed to fulfill this motivation. You would be motivated of the commercial because we can see the resistibility of the iphone which makes us buy the phone and save us money in the long run because it is more durable.

Motivation is the process that initiates, guides, and maintains goal-oriented behaviors. This video motivates me to go out and by a beer because of how it puts on the image of a happy, wholesome company with puppies and horses.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otCxSnu_HXA
Context effects is how a given stimulus may trigger radically different perceptions, because of our differing perceptual set. How the dog and horse relate to beer.
Priming is the activation of certain associations thus predisposing one perception, memory, or response. It allowed people to see there motto which was best buds and the horse save the dog from the wolf which shows how close they were.
emotion is the ad plays to your emotions by showing the dog running away and in danger. It shows the horses protecting the dog and it shows that even though they are different, they are still friends. The cute dog appeals to your emotions and makes you think that budweiser is a wholesome, family company. The animals used makes a wider range of people watch and pay attention to the ad.
A perceptual set is a set of mental tendencies and assumptions that greatly affects what we perceive. The perceptual set that I have with a beer commercial is seeing a bunch of men around a circle drinking beer, but instead, I saw a dog and horse running through the field.

A Perceptual Set is the predisposition to perceive one thing and not another. In this commercial, Phil Swift shows us a tape product that works better than most other tape products. This meets our expectations because the audience is expecting to see a tape product that works better than most other tape products.
Context Effects are how a stimulus can trigger different perceptions due to differing perceptual sets. In the advertisement, Phil Swift is in a large warehouse room, giving the tape an industrial feel.

Priming is the activation, often unconsciously, of certain associations, thus predisposing one’s perception, memory, or response. In the video, we see Phil swift patch holes and cracks in houses and buildings with flex tape so the next time we holes and cracks in houses and buildings we might think of the flex tape product.

Emotion is used to predispose people into having certain feelings / connotations about something. The advertisement uses upbeat music and enthusiastic demonstrations to create a happy idea of the product

Motivation is used to energize our decision making. In the advertisement, they show demonstrations of the product working, and ask you to imagine all the different possibilities that this product has to offer. This is done to convince you that the product is great and motivates you to want to buy it.
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xzN6FM5x_E
