I don't want to sugarcoat anything. Like your seniors' first year, UST-SHS will undoubtedly be a challenging time for all of you. Due to the constant strain and obligations you must shoulder at once, there will be many doubts, what seems like an unending number of all-nighters, and moments when you consider giving up. But you know what? Look at where your seniors are now. We've made it through our first year, and now we're one step closer to graduating from high school and finally entering college. And I'm confident that you'll soon stand on the same ground as ours bringing with you the best experiences, best people, and best memories.

Just like what I always tell my beloved 11HUMSS-4 who are now my 12HUMSS-4, ITO KA PALANG AT HINDI ITO LANG.

Be great and be proud of yourselves, always. My door is 24/7 open whenever you need someone to talk to about absolutely anything. I believe in you 101%, my babies.

Laban tayo! Para sa pangarap at para sa bayan. We're Humanistas for a reason, remember that.

KUMAIN KAYO SA KLASE!!

Maraming prof na nagsasabing bawal kumain while classes, pero okay lang yan basta wag ka papahuli. De seryoso, kain kayo sa klase. Mas okay nang occupied kayong kumain kesa antokin kayo sa lesson. Mahirap pag hindi mo man lang alam yung concepts na dinidiscuss sa inyo, lalo na if recitation. Iyak ka na lang emz. Nakakatulong ang pag-kain kasi kahit hindi ka nakikinig, nakikita mo naman yung visuals, at least may nalalanghap kang kahit konting info. Better yun kesa tulugan mo and wala kang info talaga na makuha. Kung tamad ka, like me, makinig ka talaga sa lessons niyo, kasi nagsisinungaling ka na lang sa sarili mo kung papaniwalaan mo yung mga salitang "Papanuorin ko na lang yung recording mamaya" tas sa dami ng groupworks, hindi mo na nagawang balikan yung lesson. Iyak ka na lang mga bente.

If I'm being honest, mahirap talaga maging freshie, lalo na if galing ka sa ibang school, talagang malilito ka and matagal tagal ang pagadjust, pero kakayanin niyo yan, kung hindi, edi wag.

Eto closing remarks ko:
A great woman once said "Stand tall. We are fighters! Even with numbers, anything can still happen. Remember that." And I believe, korique.

Senior High School is "built different."🥰🤩🤧

It really is, though. Even more so if it is the University of Santo Tomas Senior High School. It goes beyond its prestigious image you might have seen online, being one of the big 4 universities in the Philippines. Likewise, there are so many scenes not mentioned in youtube videos showing the days in a life of a Thomasian. I don't intend to rob you of the experience of realizing what these are, as it is for you to discover on your own. I think it will be more meaningful to you in that way - more personal. :))

Being at UST is great, but it certainly won't be easy. Especially since you'll be in the adjustment phase. But, don't be too hard on yourself if ever there is a time you'll feel you're not enough. Take a deep breath and remember na okay lang magreklamo ("Bakit ba ako nag ust haha") and okay lang magpahinga. Just make sure you'll still see it through until the end. Ust may be "built different," but so are you!

You'll do wonders in the coming months. Aside from working and learning to be better, I hope you enjoy every moment.

NASA HUMANISTA ANG TRUE LOVE!

Accurate ang aking title, sino pa ang higit na magmamahal sayo kundi isang humanista AHAHHAHAHHA jokes aside, i really hope you learn how to love yourselves as you embark this new chapter <33 (walang jowa jowa dito chz)

I do not intend to intimidate you all, but really- magigising ka sa realidad :)) Parang nga patikim na ng college. You’ll face a lot of self-doubts, challenges, and existential crisis here. And that is why i advise you guys to appreciate the person you are, be it present or future. Acknowledge your strengths, weaknesses, skills, and capabilities. (It’s okay if you still don’t know yourself. Life is an everlasting journey of learning, so no pressure. You’ll get the hang of things eventually.)

Pleaaasee please take care of yourselves! Self-love ka na nang husto para maalagaan mo rin ang sarili mo; your health should be your #1 priority. You will not be able to do anything if your mind and body is not in good condition. MATULOG!! KUMAIN ON TIME!! HYGIENE!!

And pinakamalaking advice ko talaga is: be kinder to yourself. Talk to yourself with kindess, kasi sino ba kasama at kakampi mo buong buhay mo?- sarili mo rin. Be your own bestfriend. This whole thread may sound cheesy, ridiculous, and obvious, but as your seniors, we want what is best for you. Kami rin tong batch na hindi natutulog tapos diresto sa class at naka-zoom call nang mahigit 10 hours hahaha kaya break the cycle, okii??

Bonus advice. Magsipag ka sa notes- dyan lang kami nakasurvive wooo jot down every date, every task, every revision, etc. A life-saving skill! Less messy schedules, sabogness, and umay feelings.

MASCOTS EYO!

Since most of you look at chat during announcements and other stuff, I know some of you are familiar with the tiger cubs on the gc pic. Yan ang unofficial mascots ng 11 HUMMS4 na ginawa ko for fun. I don't really have good advice to give other than na wag kayo sumabog and masyado mastress.

On a serious note maybe I can say na look at things with detail din since you'll love the small moments with your new classmates. I know I did and I met close friends din. Ayun lang nmn, gusto ko lang sabihin na have fun and don't lose yourself in your school works.

I call the cubs Woozy and Fuzz pero kayo bahala na din. If gusto niyo ng icons ng tigers you can either make them yourselves or ask me for some. The cubs are for HUMMS4 and for the fun of it SLAAAY the school year !!
