Usualy they do this as ritual to have good luck in the match is like wishing good luck with something that in other ocasion brought the team or player a nice match.

In my opinion, sometimes these superstitions could work, for example, when you believe that your headband or your socks give you good luck in the games, even though it is probably not true, believing in this superstition makes you have confidence in yourself and believe that you will make it thanks to your socks or headband.

I never knew the bad luck of the number 13, until I was 9 years old, when my classmates talked about Jason and Fredy, I was a little scared, but years later I saw the movie Friday the 13th; and I was no longer afraid. This experience taught me that superstitions are not real, and we always need to remember that numbers are numbers.

In my opinion superstitions can be both true and false because sometimes an object will not help you pass an exam or an object will not protect you from any kind of illness, but I believe that if you put faith in something and believe that it will help you, that object will take those good vibes and maybe it will help you. When I was a child I was afraid of the number thirteen because I said it was bad luck and that something was going to happen, but then I grew up and stopped thinking about it.

Believing in something too much, even if it is good or bad, can make you change your way of being too much which is a bad thing since you really would not be yourself and in the case of superstitions what they do is that you leave your future or destiny to objects or thoughts that really could not serve us and in the event that they do not serve us we will be disappointed and if they serve us it would strengthen that belief.

In my opinion, thinking positive, being motivated and believing in positive superstitions is not bad at all, because then you are surrounded by good energy and that might help you in your work and academic life. But always being in a bad mood, being negative and thinking that all those bad superstitions are true could be detrimental.

I believe in certain superstitions, and I don't think they are silly either, neither the good nor the bad ones, like a four-leaf clover is good luck, I think it is a superstition that does no harm, but if you become obsessed with a superstition then it could be dangerous, like believing that black cats are bad luck, although for some people it makes sense, and for others not, believing in it in an obsessive way can be bad because you will be afraid of what you do or say because of the superstitions you believe in.
