This traumatic event left a deep emotional scar. Throughout his teens, he had moved around a lot and attended many high schools. After graduating, he tried college for awhile.

He began listening to artists like A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, and also drew inspiration from rock bands like Pink Floyd and Nirvana, which shaped the genre blending style he would later pioneer in his song writing. At 19 years old, with nothing but a backpack and a pack of demo CD's, he moved to New York City with his uncle to pursue music. He worked at a BAPE store in New York City, where he ended up meeting Kanye West. Cudi played his music for Kanye West. Soon after that, he got signed to G.O.O.D Music and dropped his first hit song "Day 'n' Nite. #fromclevlandtoNYC #dreamchaser #daynNight

Kid Cudi's art is a visual journey into emotion, dreams, and mental health. From the cover of Man on the Moon to his mind-altering Entergalactic animations, he uses cosmic and surreal imagery to represent what it feels like to live with anxiety, isolation, and hope. Moons, stars, and galaxies show up repeatedly in his visuals, symbolizing his feeling of being different, like he doesn't belong on earth. His color palettes often shift between dark, space like tones and bright neon's, mirroring emotional highs and lows that he expresses through his music. His visuals are more than just decoration, through his art, Cudi invites people to feel less alone through their struggles. #ManonTheMoon #Entergalactic #MusicisArt

Lyrics analysis: "Mr. Rager"

Mr. Rager by Kid Cudi is a song about his personal struggles, escapism, and depression. The “Rager” represents a darker, more rebellious side of himself, chasing thrills and running from emotional pain. Throughout the song, he expresses feelings of isolation, confusion, and the cost of living a fast, reckless lifestyle. The song captures the conflict between wanting freedom from suffering and searching for a sense of purpose and meaning in life. The lyrics "tell me where your going, tell us where your headed" represents “Mr. Rager” as a character/ alter ego representing Kid Cudi’s escapism and struggles , making it a metaphor for his inner struggles and desire to break free from his pain. The repetition in the chorus reflects how constant and consuming those feelings can be. His voice floats over errie, emotional production, making the song feel like your walking through your own mind. This song captures what it feels like to be on the edge, searching for a reason to hold on. #Manonthemoon #Mr.Rager

I was struggling with mental health in a way that I couldn't explain to anyone. I was hurting so deeply. Throughout time, my heart began to feel heavy and full. I've spent my entire life holding my baggage of trauma and hardships on my shoulders without knowing how to deal with it. I was exhausted of feeling this way and not feeling understood. Discovering Kid Cudi's music and his song, Mr. Rager truly changed me. Listening to Mr. Rager was the first time I didn't feel ashamed for what I was feeling. it was the first time i didn't feel alone with what i was dealing with. This song captures the struggles of inner conflicts and the struggles within yourself so perfectly. His music didn't just help me, it pulled me back from a place I wasn't sure i'd ever come out of. He didn't save me with solutions. He saved me with understanding. And sometimes, that's the only thing strong enough to keep you breathing. #Mentalhealthawareness #KidCudiSavedMe #MusicThatHeals

Kid Cudi, born as Scott Mescudi, is an artist who has been deeply shaped by the pioneers of hip hop, rock, and his Midwestern roots. Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Cudi's Geographic background gave his music a unique edge. Far from the coastal hip-hop scenes of New York and L.A., his Midwest perspective led him to carve out his own emotional, introspective sound. Cleveland's mix of urban struggle and suburban isolation helped influence his themes of loneliness, mental health, and self discovery. #Cleveland #Ohio #uniquesound

Music and helped lunch his career, as well as OutKast, Pharrell, and A Tribe Called Quest. These artists inspired his experimental production, genre blending style, and honest storytelling.

Kid Cudi changed the way people think about rap. While most rappers talk about fame, money, women, or partying, Cudi was different. He talked openly about feeling depressed, alone, and feeling like an outcast in his own life. Songs like "Pursuit of Happiness" and "Soundtrack 2 My Life" made listeners feel like someone finally understood them. He became a hero for people, especially the youth. Struggling with anxiety, depression, or identity. His music is a constant reminder that it's okay to not be okay, and that even the darkest moments can lead to growth and strength. His honesty gave others the courage to open up about their own struggles. Kid Cudi's impact goes beyond music , he gave a voice to the voiceless, and showed that being emotional doesn't make you weak, it makes you human.

#YouAreNotAlone #RapWithMeaning #StayStrong #MentalHealthAwareness

Through his career, Kid Cudi has used sampling as a way to connect emotions, genres, and generations. From his early mixtapes to his most recent projects, Cudi has taken pieces of music from rock, electronic, pop, and indie songs and turned them into something completely on his own. In "Make her say" he flipped Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" into a playful catchy rap anthem with Kanye West and Common. As his sound involved, Cudi continued to use sampling not just as a musical tool, but as an emotional storyteller. #MakeHersay #KidCudi
