I am a history faculty member at Pima Community College, teaching mainly Latin American and Arizona history. I don't teach a language, but I know how important language is for students. I hope to be able to share more of the world with my students using the tools I learn here. So many have never left AZ, much less the US. A little rant before I introduce myself why all the names of my fellows are properly capitalized - capitalised or capitalized(excuse my ignorance of spelling differences between AmE or BrE) except mine?

Anyway, it is Suraga Elzibaer, I am a passionate English language teacher(maybe a junior teacher but still a teacher) with two years of experience teaching adults and KS2.

No fancy qualifications still going through my undergraduate degree.
From Sudan 🇸🇩 but currently living in the United Arab Emirates as an asylum seeker because of the civil war in my country.

Hailing from the family of teachers, I'm a third generation in this line of profession, My name is Sumayyah Malik. I have been teaching English functional courses like Communication and Presentation Skills, Technical and Business Writing, Composition and Comprehension at FAST university from the past four years.

My teaching methodology is based upon my M.Phil research in the domain of Spiritual Pedagogy and ELT. I believe that teachers are like mentors and through right practices they can heal their students. Teaching is a two-way process, in which a teacher is not only teaching but learning from her students. Through learner's autonomy, I try to inculcate leadership skills, critical thinking and empathy in my students.

I have not always wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be a change maker/leader but in 2016, my whole worldview changed when I attended a SUSI summer school at Kansas University (USA) on Women Leadership, it changed my perspective around leadership and made me realize that how teachers can be adaptive leaders and changemakers.

Recently, I'm doing PhD in Linguistics from International Islamic University

Currently, I'm involved in two projects: One is regarding the compilation of my poems and other one is about the occurrence of the phenomenon of mansplaining in the discussion oriented classrooms at the University level.

Previously, I taught at the University of Arizona- College of Education while a graduate student in Spanish and Language, Reading, and Culture (LRC-Bilingual Education). My teaching focus has been in second and foreign language acquisition learning strategies. This focus has lead me to specialize in metalinguistic and applied linguistic teaching techniques My teaching goals include the five C goals identified by ACTFL, with emphasis on cultural competence. Wafa Bahri (Soubeika) holds a PhD in Linguistics with focus on Sociolinguistics and MA in Applied Linguistics. Her research examines language maintenance and revitalization of the Tunisian variety of Tamazight, both at structural level and through the computer-mediated discourse. Her work is driven by an interest in how language ideology and discourse operate to shape language shift and revival. Her recent work has turned to diverse topics that include language and gender inclusivity in writing Arabic varieties, and language and cinematic discourse in Amazigh film.
