It is known as one of the Wonders of the modern world. before the bridge was built, people that wanted to get to San Francisco from the northern peninsula had to take a ferry there, the bridge started construction at January, 5 1937 and was completed by May 27th that same year. When the golden bridge costed a whopping 27 million dollars, Adjusted for inflation it is now about $1.5 billion dollars, this was largely due to it being entirely made out of steel with several cables going up to 8000 ft long and being a mile long and having a width of 90ft and being 726 ft above the water!, It not even be possible to build today!
