A theme that is developed through the text "Homeless Girls Dream" is that dreams can be accomplished when you work hard. One evidence that proves the theme dreams can be accomplished when you work hard is "After lights out at the shelter, she would slip into the hallways or bathroom to study". The evidence provided proves that Williams is hard working because she would make sure to study even when she was not in a good situation to do so. the text goes on to state " Months later on a warm Spring day Khadija is in white crimson-colored Harvard sweats and white t-shirt with her braids forwards let's and white T-shirt with their braids pulled up in a ponytail". This evidence proves that Khadijah accomplished her goal of attending Harvard by working hard, studying even if she was not a good situation to do so

In addition in the text it states" after lights out at the shelter, she would slip into the hallway or bathroom to study ". This indicates that even when it's time to sleep she would still study in the bathroom and hallway and wake up early in the morning.

The theme developed throughout the text "A homeless Girl's Dream" is that dreams come true if you work hard. In the text "A homeless girl's dream" it states, " Despite such upheavals Khadijah has accomplished a goal many girls her age can only dream of reaching. In may she completed her freshman year at top ranked Harvard University." This demonstrates many girls dream of attending Harvard University including Khadijah and she was determined to accomplish her goals. The text also states, " Khadijah who receives financial aid just shrugs when you ask her how she did it. She says that going to Harvard was the plan all along." This quote indicates that she always planned and dreamed of attending Harvard and with her determination and hard work she accomplished her goal of getting accepted into Harvard University. This s the theme developed throughout "A homeless girl's dream."

The theme that is developed throughout "A Homeless Girl's Dream" is that your situation does not determine your potential. In the text it says " For most of her life, Khadijah has been homeless. This shows her difficult. A quote that supports the fact that she didn't let her situation determine her outcome is when it says" She was accepted to 22 out of the 26 colleges to which she applied." This shows that since she didn't let being homelessness stop her from working hard so that she can get accepted to her dream school. This is the theme that is developed throughout the "A Homeless Girls Dream".

A theme that is developed through “A Homeless Girls Dream” is that to achieve success, people need to be dedicated and never give up. In the text it states, “in her junior year Khadijah was living in a shelter.” This showed dedication because she lived in a shelter and didn’t even have a home but was still able to succeed. In the text it also states, “Living in a shelter so far away from school that she had to wake up at 4:30 a.m.” This also showed dedication because even though Khadijah lived far away from school, she still woke up early and made it there to study and learn. So, in conclusion, a theme that was developed in “A Homeless Girl’s Dream” was that in order to be successful, people have to be dedicated, just as Khadijah Williams was.

The theme that is developed throughout “A Homeless Girl’s Dream” is no matter the challenges you face never give up. The text states “In her junior year was living in a shelter so faraway from the school that she had to wake up at 4:30 A.M. and take three different busses”. This shows that even though Khadijah’s school was really far away but she never gave up and woke up at 4:30 AM to get early to school, which shows the theme. In text it also states “And sometimes, after lights out at the shelter, she would slip into the hallway or bathroom to study”. This shows that when the lights were out she would go into the bathroom to study, which also shows the theme of never giving up. So, the theme presented throughout the story is that you should never give up no matter what challenges you face.

The theme developed throughout the text "A Homeless Girl's Dream'' is that you could achieve anything if you put your mind to it and work hard for it. In the text it states, " Khadijah, who receives financial aid, just shrugs when you ask her how she did it. She says that going to Harvard was the plan all along." This quote indicates that Khadijah set her mind to the idea that she would be going to Harvard and she got in. This text goes on to say, "The commute home during rush hour was even longer. But she soldered on." This quote demonstrates that Khadijah kept on trying and put her mind set to achieving her goal no matter what, even if her school was extremely far away she kept tried very hard to get her work done. This is why the theme developed throughout the text was if you set your mind to achieve something and work hard for it, you will achieve your goal.

The theme that is developed throughout "A Homeless Girl's Dream" would be, no matter the situation, you can achieve whatever you put your mind to. Khadijah Williams was a homeless person and at a low state in her life. She had a dream and never gave up on it. In the article it states, "Among the residents of the shelters Khadijah became known as the girl who was trying to make something of herself. Not everyone was supportive. Some people would say, 'What makes you think you're so special' she remembers." Although she had people wanting her to fail, she kept working hard. Even at the lowest state, she didn't let people dictate her future. The article also states, "Despite such upheavals, Khadijah has accomplished a goal many girls her age can only dream of reaching: In May she completed her freshman year at top-ranked Harvard University." She stayed strong to her dream and accomplished exactly what she wanted. She didn't let anybody take her off the path to her dream. In conclusion, don't let anyone dictate your future and more importantly, no matter the situation, you can achieve whatever you put your mind to.

Khadijah Williams is a homeless girl who pushed herself and overcame multiple challenges to be able to study at Harvard University. The text states, " But for Khadijah, school was a refugee, A reminder that outside the shelter was a world filled with possibility." This explains that Khadijah knew that she was able to be a success no matter what. That being homeless isn't an excuse not to be able to have an education. It may be harder to succeed while being homeless, But Khadijah Williams shows that it is possible. The text also states, " A lot of challenges for homeless children is psychological" This means that Khadijah has faced a lot of challenges

The theme throughout "A Homeless Girl's Dream" is, in order to achieve your goals, you should never give up no matter the obstacles. The text says, "In her junior year Khadijah was living in a shelter so faraway from the school that she had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. and take three different buses to make it to her first class." This quote describes that Khadijah WIlliams had to wake up at extremely early times to get to school. However, she didn't let that obstacle stop her, and she went to and from school for long hours so that she could achieve her goal of going to Harvard. The text continues to state, "She'd balance her books on her lap and do her homework on the bus. And sometimes, after lights out at the shelter, she would slip into the hallway or bathroom to study." This quote explains that while having to deal with troubles with studying and doing homework, Khadijah managed to persevere through. Williams didn't have to get her homework done, get to school on time, or study for tests. But, because she wanted to accomplish her goal, she got through difficulties and obstacles in her life. In the text, "A Homeless Girl's Dream", Khadijah Williams always had a goal to get into Harvard, and through perseverance she managed to accomplish this goal by not giving up.

In the text it states, " In her junior year she had to wake up at 4:30 Am and take three different busses to get to school". This statement explains that khadijah knew that giving up would do no good to her so she kept trying until she reached her destination. Or she could've just gave up like others, after all she didn't know that when she will grow up she will go to Harvard. In the text it also states, "Among the residents Khadijah became known as the girl who was trying to make something of herself". This explains that Khadijah became known as the girl who was trying and the girl who was different from other homeless people in the shelters who had given up on their hopes to be something in their lives. so always keep trying if you want to be something in life.

Based on the text “ maybe their time ran out at a temporary shelter, or maybe she sensed the conditions were becoming unsafe”. This shows that Williams she had to move around a lot she didn’t have a stable place to lay her head. The text also states “ She says Harvard was the plan all along”.

I believe the theme that is developed in the text “A Homeless Girl’s Dream” is that no matter who puts you down, you get right back up. My point could be proven when the text states “Khadijah recalls the time in third grade when she tested in the 99th percentile on a standardized test: The school was like ‘Oh, this is probably a mistake’.”. This shows Khadijah is a intelligent individual who was doubted by her educators, but this wouldn’t stop Khadijah from achieving her dream. This point could be proven when the text states “ Randy Winston, president of student services at South Central Scholars, says he was immediately struck by Khadijah’s ability to maintain her focus”. This shows Khadijah is able to maintain her focus on her dream no matter who attempts to bring her down. This is why the theme is no matter who brings you down you get right back up.

The theme developed throughout “A Homeless Girl’s Dream?” is don’t judge a book by its cover. The text states “Khadijah recalls in third grade when she tested in the 99th percentile on a standardized test. The school was like oh , this is probably a mistake. They didn’t really think it was possible for me to get that high a score”. This demonstrates that because Khadijah was poor and have her necessities that her school thought she couldn’t get a high score. They underestimated her intelligence. The text goes on to state “People focus on the material things you don’t have when you’re homeless”. This shows that her school most likely thought that because she didn’t have much that she couldn’t exceed in her classes or get excellent grades. This is why ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ is a theme developed throughout “A Homeless Girl’s Dream”.

The theme developed throughout “A Homeless Girl’s Dream” is don’t judge a book by its cover. This is true because thought out the whole text lots of people doubted the fact that she was smart. For example the eighth grade teacher did not believe that she tested in the 99the percentile out of the state. All because she was homeless. This is true because in the text it states “ when she tested in the 99th percentile on a standardized test... oh this is probably a mistake .” This proves that teacher doubted her but she still kept pushing. This also proves that she worked hard even though what she went through. Also in the text it states “ endure a multitude of impendments to education a lack of structure, lost school records, poor physical and mental health and high absenteeism.” This proves that even statistics doubted her. But she still kept pushing. That why the theme is hardworking pays off.
