Working with a diverse group of staff and families helped me to see and understand perspectives I never could have been exposed to if I had stayed within my narrow group of origin.  Sometimes those experiences were in line with my world view, and sometimes world views I was exposed to were challenging to me, but with time and a willingness to listen I was able to grow as a person.  Neal was the driving force in the school that made these things happen.  Neal and the Board of Directors supported bringing a diverse group of teachers and students to the school.  This wasn't an easy task, and I think that work will be ongoing as long as CCS exists. -
