The Estates General was a class tier in France and it was made up of three Estates: the first estate included clergy and church officials, the second estate included nobles and the third estate included commoners. The First Estate makes up 1% of the population but gets one vote, and doesn't have to pay taxes. The Second Estate makes up 10% and gets one vote, they also don't have to pay taxes. The Third Estate makes up 89% of the population and they get one vote. The issue with this is that the First and Second Estate always agree on the same conflicts and topics and have the same opinions they always vote for the same options while the Third Estate is struggling and votes on the opposite opinion so the Third Estate always gets outvoted. Moving to a different subject, the National Assembly is a representation based on the population type of government. The reason the upper estates wouldn't like this is because they would only get one vote or two votes, the Third Estate would get three most likely, and they would always get to outvote the first and second estates. When they tried the National Assembly method the king locked them out he didn't want to upset the first and second estates so the commoners, known as the Third Estate, gathered in a tennis court at the Palace of Versailles and made the Tennis Court Oath. The tennis court was a promise among the Third Estate to not disassemble until there was a constitution for the people and better laws and rules had been made for the Third Estate but the king would arrest them all for this.

The storming of the Bastille was due to fear that the National Assembly would dissolve. The commoners also felt that King Louis the 16th was attacking their rights. They rose against the soldiers at the Bastille but they succeeded due to the guards being a part of the Third Estate, they succeeded in freeing political prisoners and grabbing weapons from the Armory. The women's march on the Palace of Versailles happened due to the people being angry over the price of bread and there was a rumor of Queen Marie Antoinette hoarding all the bread. They blamed the queen for spending all of France's money and the reason they were in such financial ruin. The people had good reasoning for doing this, this was because they were hungry they couldn't afford the increasing prices of bread and the queen and king did not seem to care mostly because King Louis the 16th didn't want to upset the First and Second estate and queen Marie Antoinette didn't have anything to worry about, she had all the money in the world or that's what she thought, this ideology would cause the king and queen not to return to the palace of Versailles, nor their children. A legislative government also could be defined as a constitutional monarchy was the idea that King Louis the 16th would work with the people, not above the people. This idea of government was an attempt to keep the monarchy and the people happy and decentralize government spreading power out to other branches of government. The reason this fails is because France has never had any other type of government besides a monarchy on top of being a monarchy they never had any type of government besides an absolute monarch. The First Republic was a government during the time of the Reign of Terror this was run by Robespierre, who was a French politician, this was done during the reign of terror where there was no real government this was after King Louis was kiled. The original goal of the First Republic was to work with the people to have a government for the People by the people. The reason this government would later fail is because all the power got to Robespierre like it would most.

The directory was a form of government during the French Revolution it contained the lower house which would come up with legislative laws and propose them to the Upper House which would accept or veto them. The reason this government didn't work like most of them at the time was one because French had never had any type of government besides that monarchy and most importantl two it was because it was too weak or the people there were too weak. This was because people are easily manipulated and they would often go a certain way or another with the bribe or a sweet talking to. Well, we come to Napoleon most know him as the emperor of France but how did he get to be there? Well let's answer this question by the fact that he was a military genius he graduated Military Academy in 16 and he staged a coup de laux in 1799 to overthrow the directory government he brought France some Financial Security and he wasn't bad at leading either though he never really had any experience as being a political leader he was good at it. Some of his military Feats were when he invaded other countries and he conquered them some like Austria, Portugal and Spain he would put his family in charge of countries and he would also attempt to unify Europe under French control. He would use the continental system to weaken England in war and trade they would essentially have no money which meant no power. France and England go way back in their trivial fighting and insignificant disagreements. Napoleonic codes would include men having authority over their families again depriving them of their rights and reinstating constitutional slavery. So this wasn't bad as all male citizens no matter what their state was or how much money they had, equal rights under law. He also ate some political codes will limited the estate system, allowing religious freedom, restoring centralized government to France, increasing reforms in education, and improving relationships with the Pope, he also sold territory in North America to the US and Louisiana trade which would help fund his military campaigns. So there would be a downfall of him and we left there are most great leaders in history, the invasion of Russia 1812 was a disaster he invaded during winter and if you know anything about Russia during winter it is heavily cold and drastically different from Francis winter, also European powers would come together to defeat him one by one they couldn't defeat their cells but if they came together they can take him down. He would eventually be exiled to an island and he would Escape but only for 100 days he would defeated again at Waterloo and he'll be accepted into prison and say Helena but he wouldn't escape this time and he would die in said prison. Though he had a terrible downfall Napoleon's Legacy was grand as France had dominated Continental Europe and Napoleon installed his own rules of conquer Nations and made his brother a king of Spain which means relations to all the places Napoleon conquered to the fact that they were his family members.
