What is Social Justice
I believe social justice is the equal access to privileges. To live with privileges is the basis of happiness for human beings.

What is Leadership?
To bring joy of living to other people.

A Leader Who Has Social Justice
helps people to live with privileges. Also, the leader should work for people regardless of racism.

Style of This Leadership
I believe that it is not always many people support this leader. The leader who works for social justice sometimes fights against policies of the society. So, this leader should be a decisive and patient person. Also, this leader does not control people but give a sliver of life and live with people.

My philosophy is similar to the idea given by Davis, Gooden, Hall, Lee, and Spikes (2018). They mentioned that "we offer that anti racist school leaders are those who not only advocate for children of color but also empower others to acknowledge, interrupt, and dismantle racism" (p. 2).

Sugihara is not the very famous person among young Japanese people because most of history textbook do not introduce his contribution to social justice. I was one of the teenagers, but my mother gave one book about him and learned that he saved about 6000 Jews fleeing from the Holocaust during World War II. Although the Japanese Foreign Ministry did not allow him to issue visa to allow the Jewish refugees to drop Japan and go to the US and Shanghai, Sugihara went against the order from the Japanese Foreign Ministry and continued to issue visa to save their lives.

Even though Sugihara's decision was against the order from the Foreign Ministry he never gave up giving visa in Lithuania. The refugees who got visa from Sugihara were able to take the Trans-Siberian Railway and get to Vladivostok in Russia. However, the Japanese Foreign Ministry ordered the Japanese consulate in Vladivostok not to permit the refugee who had visa issued by Sugihara. However, the other leader with social justice, Sabro Nei who was a Japanese consul general stationed in Vladivostok decided to refuse the order to save the lives. Both Sugiura and Nei learned in the same school before they become consuls, and they kept the lesson which they learned in their school in mind. Takayuki Emiya (2013) introduced the lesson which their school taught:

"Try not to be taken care of by others, try to take care of others, and do not expect any rewards" (p. 51).

However, what Sugihara and Nei did was illegal at that time. They knew it was against the Foreign Ministry and their family would be in danger. In order to work against the national or federal policy, leaders need to be patient and have to make a great decision to complete their mission.

In the class of EOL 568, the class readings mentioned that the educational leaders such as principals also have the similar conflicts. Gooden(2012) said that "The major challenge is the stress. The reality is these leaders are working so hard in these types of positions as urban principals to save the school because they are passionate about it and seem to care for the students" (p.82).
