Summary and Annotation:
 
In the well-known tale by Aesop, the hare dares the tortoise to a race after making fun of it for moving slowly. The hare quickly overtakes the tortoise and then stops midway to rest, sure that it will win. When he wakes up, his rival has already arrived before him after crawling steadily but slowly.
 
The lesson that the tale imparts to us is that patience is preferable to brazen speed. Of fact, the hare could have easily won if she hadn't grown complacent. Then perhaps the lesson is "don't give up- people will always screw you and then you have an opportunity," that the systematic and driven, not the flashy and seemingly powerful, ultimately triumph. The tortoise is a metaphor for those of us who, while not being the BEST or BRIGHTEST at something, may overcome obstacles and outperform the arrogant and self-centered hare in terms of speed and natural ability by putting our heads down and working diligently. He paid a high price because he lacked intelligence and modesty.

Summary and Annotation:

"The Three Little Pigs" is the story of three pigs and the Big Bad Wolf. In the beginning of the story, the pigs build houses for themselves in the countryside. Because they are lazy, two of the pigs build houses out of flimsy material. The last pig is smarter and builds a house of brick. The Big Bad Wolf would like to catch the pigs and eat them for dinner. He blows down the two flimsy houses and chases the pigs who live inside. Eventually, all of the pigs end up in the house of brick and set a trap for the wolf. The trap works and the pigs are not eaten.

The moral lesson learned from "The Three Little Pigs" is that hard work and dedication pays off. We need to be sure in life it's decission must be concrete and bounded. Life isn't as easy as we thought there are lot of consequences we may faced therefore we should ready ourself and be stronger as we could.

It tells the story of two devoted friends, Gerda and Kay. An evil troll has made a magic mirror that distorts the appearance of everything it reflects. The magic mirror fails to reflect the good and beautiful aspects of people and things, and magnifies their bad and ugly aspects.


The Snow Queen" is about the power of love and good versus evil. Gerda's love for Kay never wavers even when the cursed mirror afflicts him, and he is unkind to her. It’s time to say goodnight. But what if a dog isn’t sleepy? Intimate and accessible, this young dog story captures how a reluctant pup warms to bedtime in a way that children will recognize immediately–and find as reassuring as their own beds.

This book empathizes with a child who isn’t feeling sleepy even though it’s bedtime. The dog uses two strategies to wind down that could also be helpful to a not-sleepy child. He reflects on the high points of his day (playing with his little girl, running in the grass, eating his food). Reflecting on the day and noting the day’s main events is a mindfulness strategy that can help a child to unwind before bed. The dog then tries curling up in his bed and reflecting on what he’s looking forward to tomorrow (the sun coming back), and before he knows it, his little girl is waking him up for a new day.

The Grimm fairy tale gets a Technicolor treatment in Disney's first animated feature. Jealous of Snow White's beauty, the wicked queen orders the murder of her innocent stepdaughter, but later discovers that Snow White is still alive and hiding in a cottage with seven friendly little miners. Disguising herself as a hag, the queen brings a poisoned apple to Snow White, who falls into a death-like sleep that can be broken only by a kiss from the prince.

One of the most important lessons it teaches is the danger of vanity. The evil queen wants Snow White dead because she cannot accept the fact she is not the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. But it is this vanity that destroys her at the end. The concept of real beauty is another theme discussed in this story.

Sleeping Beauty symbolizes the archetype of the Feminine or a personification of Love, the gentle energy. The marriage of the prince and princess shows the marriage of opposites as in the literal marriage of man and woman, but also the union of opposites in the psyche.

a Philippine tale, this story of a turtle who finds a banana tree in the river and a monkey who cheats her out of its fruit begins with a catchy folklore situation but ultimately trails off in bits and pieces.

the fable progresses from starving to theft to murder to cannibalism, settles on the metaphor for all those wrongs to be represented by eating meat. I guess the metaphor is a device to cushion the effect of this gorey fable being told to children. Not sure I would do that.

Little White Fish is crying. He can’t find his mommy. While looking for her he sees all sorts of animals: a red crab, an orange starfish, a yellow snail, a green turtle, a blue whale and a purple octopus. But none of them are his mommy! Then he sees his mommy, and she has all the same colors as Little White Fish.

This story teaches us that there are an instances where we felt the unbellonginess of the world but despite of this consequences, thing to remember is to continue walking as maybe at the end of the line we could see the placed we belong. Just like the white fish who kept seking his mom then again he found what his looking for.

 Perfect for Halloween storytime or any other time! Gilbert goes to ghost school like all the other ghosts, but he's a special ghost: he doesn't like to screech in a scary way, he doesn't want to haunt and was always polite.

This book signifies the uncomfortability and fear but with all those feelings the only thing we could as someone stock on a box is to face it the circumstances with all the braveness. Just believe on your self we don't what would happen but one thing we know is we did try it.
