A kewpie doll lamp is a lamp that is built from a children's toy. Bow-legged people have leg stances that are slanted more out than others. All of this sets the tone that they are set in the real modern America.

This shows how Slim speaks about things that annoy him. Slim is usually chilled and laid back until something around him is affecting him.

This quote here shows the violence that can happen in the split of a second. It shows more of the environment and how they can use diction like this.
