In the song, there were a few lines which included rhyme such as "I long to see the sunlight in your hair
And tell you time and time again
How much I care". For the extract from Twelfth Night, the rhyme is "Away before me to sweet beds of flowers:
Love - thoughts lie right when canopied with bowers". This line is also counted as a metaphor as the bed of flowers could represent Olivia being different, fresh and beautiful.
Another literary device is repetition. The phrase "I love you." was used multiple times throughout the song.

After analysing the extracts, I have found three literary/poetic devices/techniques. Below listed are the techniques: Simile, Metaphor and Irony/Dramatic technique.
1. Metaphor (Found in twelth night): "Diana's lip is not more smooth and rubious". In the quote above, the Duke Orsino is metaphorically referring to Viola-Cesario's feminine features explaining how it refers to the moon goddess Diana.
2. Metaphor 2 (Found in both extracts but more clearly shown in the song lyrics). The two men blinded by love both follow the idea of being mirrors of each other. They both believe that they have found the perfect girl, a reflection of themselves. This can be shown in this quote: "I'm looking' right at the other half of me. The vacancy that sat in my heart.". Justin Timberlake refers to how his girl is like the reflection of him.
3. Irony/dramatic technique
The 'great' Duke Orsino is deeply in love with Olivia despite not knowing her or meeting her at all. He can't live without her and yet in the following quote he seems to be better off by himself..."for I myself am best when least in company". What dramatic technique and irony!

My character is Viola/ Cesario as she loves the Duke of Illyria. Viola doesn't really show her love for the duke, however tries to express herself as much in this poem.
The first example would be how Viola, in the beginning of the poem, states how she loves the Duke of Illyria and how he loves another (who is olivia). Viola attempts in using several metaphors and repetitions such as "mine soul pops out" and "Oh how I love thee, Oh how thou love another," just to express her love for the Duke of Illyria. The poem also states how she is thirsty for his love and wants it all to herself but then she soon realizes her selfish temptation was. However in the poem Viola changes the story to make it so that Viola and The duke don't fall involve, instead Olivia and the Duke get happily married and Viola and her twin brother (sebastian) never make the mistake of loosing each other again.

My character us the Duke Orsino. He expresses his love for a very brief letter (as far as Draft 1 goes) as well as in a not so respectful manner. Being so madly in love with Olivia he has disregard for her mournings. In the following quote it is clearly that although he respects Olivia's mourning he would rather focus on the topic of love and being in love with Olivia... "I respect thy ways of mourning ov'r thy brother but wherefore beest a nun? wherefore wear a veil". Orsino in my letter hates the fact that she wears a veil and is a nun. He wishes greatly that Olivia would open up and he could see her out on the streets more.
In the second example, Orsino expresses his love, describing Olivia..."Thy voice is that of a nightingale's and thy presence taketh other women vanish! Thee art the one, the love of mine life.". He seems to be complimenting and flirting with Olivia through the letter showing a clear example of both love and romance. This can also be shown in the third example which actually comes first in the letter.."Thy quite quaint eyes, that fine frame...I has't fallen in love with thee". Orsino starts the letter quite concisely immediately expressing his feelings of love for Olivia as though he can't hold it in. In relation to our starter activity, Let It Go would be a great match here as he is trying to open up his feelings to Olivia despite not knowing her as well.
