The high priest was jealous of the apostles, therefore he put them in a public prison.

I connected this passage to this theme because it shows me that the priest was power hungry, and dose not what to share others religions with the world. This means that the early church was faced with the challenge of being in prisoned for just sharing the gospel.

In this passage the Sanhedrin are angry at what Stephen was preaching. But Stephen looked to the holy spirt and asked for help. the Sanhedrin all rushed at him yelling, they then dragged him out and stoned him. while this was happing Stephen prayed to the lord and he saved him.

I can connect this to the theme by seeing that people were crusifide for perching leading to hatred and hurt. this was a challenge because it made it hard to share the gospel

Anansis sold part of his property but kept part of the money for himself, he then goes to give the money to the apostles but is untruthful so he gets killed. later his wife, Sapphira gose to the apostles and gives them thire money, and they ask if this is all of it but she is untruthful. so the apostles killed her.

I can connect this to the theme by seeing that early believers were un truthful to the apostles. this shows me that it would have been hard to preach if they were constantly being lied to.

Peter tells a cripled man to walk, taking him by hand the man instantly got up and walked. the man became strong and started to praise God.

i can see the work of the holy spirt here as it shows me when he can just get up and walk. to extend the holy spirt shows god is now with this man as he heals him.

the apostles use the holy spirt to heal many and preform signs.

i can see they use the holy spirt to heal the people and share signs of gods work. I can also connect it to this theme by understanding that the healing took place through the holy spirt

i can see that the development of the first church had a large role on Christianity. this started practices and different ways of preaching. i can also see that it was a sacred place for people.
