Percy Jackson and the son of Neptune is by Rick Riordan I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars because the book was full of action and there was never a dull moment in the book . I would recommend it for people who like adventure and for people who liked the Harry Potter series because you would be surprised with how similar they are.

Percy Jackson and the lost hero by Rick Riordan is a amazing book for anyone who read the first Percy Jackson series. It has a perfect mix of new characters and old settings and some old characters. I would rate 4 out of 5 stars because it was a perfect start to a series and it was a action packed book with plot twists and adventure and started to teach me about the roman culture. I would recommend this book to anybody who loves history and mythology. Percy Jackson and the Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan is exciting book full of surprises and you can never put the book down. I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars because it is my favorite book of this Percy Jackson series yet because there is so much drama and excitement throughout the story. Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie Tolan is a exciting unpredictable book. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars because at some parts of the book it was boring and it did not make a lot of sense at some points. The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster is a funny adventurous book that has so many funny play on words. I would rate this book definitely 5 out of 5 because it had a perfect mix of comedy and adventure. I recommend this to anybody that likes a little bit of comedy because this book thought of so many creative things to add. This book is one of my favorites because of it. Crenshaw by K. A. Applegate is a amazing heartfelt book. Full off surprises and it takes you into the perspective of a homless kid Jackson and that he can not do much about him being homeless. It takes you into the craziness and unpredictability of homelessness. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars because there really was not a clear solution to the problem of homelessness but I guess in real life there is not a solution to it so I get it. Carl Deuker does a great job to make the reader really root for and care about Mick Johnson and that makes the book so much better. I would rate it 5 out of 5 because it is such a intense book and when you think Mick Johnson can't do anything worse he does. My only problem with the book is there really is no solution but it seems like there is not a clear solution in most social issue books. The Best School Year Ever by Barbara Robinson is a fun and easy book to read made up of funny short stories about the Herdmans. I liked this book because it was not very confusing and it was funny. But there was only small problems that got solved relatively quickly so if there was a longer clearer problem in the story I think I would have enjoyed it more. I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars because it was funny but too happy go lucky. Also I would want a longer beginning so the reader can build more sympathy for the main characters. I would recommend this book to anybody as almost a in between book. The Wednesday Wars by Gary D Schmidt is a interesting and informative book about a 6th grader whose name is Holling Hoodhood. Holling thinks his teacher Mrs. Baker hates her but he is so wrong. They learn about Shakespeare while all the other kids are at their religious classes. I would rate this book 4.5 stars out of 5 because I really thought this book was written greatly I would just like to see some of the things Holling did be stretched out over a longer period of time for instance not just talk to Micky Mantle for half a page. The Girl who owned the city by O.T. Nelson is a absolutely amazing book it has adventure, excitement, and problems that the main character Lindsay and he brother Todd have to solve. I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars because it is everything that I would look for in a book also it reminds me of Lord of the Flies and I really liked lord of the flies. So I guess I kind of like the apocalypse type of book but not zombie ones. The only thing that O.T. Nelson could make better is prolong the problems because it felt like they were solved write away. The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin is a mysterious, suspensful, and you never saw that happening type of book . I would rate this book 4.5 out of 5 stars because it is probably my favorite mystery book I ever read it has great clues, plot twists and a ending that I never saw coming. The only recommendation I have is there are a lot of perspectives to keep track of so maybe narrow it down to three main perspectives and the characters just be close with those three people because it gets confusing. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes to read because this book gets confusing and anybody who can take a little bit of suspense because this book is very suspenseful.

Percy Jackson and the Blood of Olympus is a great book to wrap up the series. It shows lots of character change and is a great way to wrap everything up. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars because a lot of the book was just wasting time until the feast of fortuna or August 1st. But the action parts as always were amazing but he could have definitely shortened the book it was very suspenseful though if that is what he was going for. Last Shot by John Feinstein is a amazing book about Stevie's trip to the final four after winning a writing contest. I really loved this book because it has everything I would look for in a book, sports, mystery, and great characters, and much more. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it was one of my  favorite mystery books ever. My only problem with the book is the beginning took to long I think the author could have cut down on the intro but I get that it was so we could develop sympathy for Stevie but I think it would be better if we developed it through out the book. Vanishing Act by John Feinstein is a thrilling sports mystery about two young writers Stevie and Susan who go to the U.S. open. I really liked the last book in the series but I think this one might be better. I really like Tennis and Basketball they are my two favorite sports which is probably liked these books so much. I would rate this 5 out of  stars because the last book did not have a ending that we would never see coming and it was like a wow moment but this book did. The only thing I don't like about this book is there was not enough Tennis actually being played like in the Basketball book they told us and narrated the games but not in this book as much. Cover Up by John Feinstein is a thriller book about Football and a mystery at the super bowl. I liked this book because it had them doing crazier stuff but I did not like it as much as the other two books in the series. Maybe because football is not my favorite sport but I think it was because it was a sadder book with Stevie getting fired and that stuff but also because the focus was not about football in this book it was really about media. I would rate this 4 out of 5 stars because I just did not connect with this book as much as the other two. But it was still a pretty good book and it was nice to see how the characters developed since the first book. Trials of  Apollo the Hidden oracle by Rick Riordan was a good book but not my favorite Percy Jackson book because it really did not include many of the older characters that I really liked like Jason and Piper and Hazel. I get that Rick Riordan wanted to introduce new characters for the new series but I like the old characters better. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars because it was still a really good book I just thought it would be better because I really enjoyed the previous series.
