3- It is important in sport because going through the stages can help a team to be sucessful. An example of this is that they will have good communication skills and they will have good teamwork skills which can improve their performance during matches/competitions.

1) For a group of people to become a team, they have to go through the four stages of development. These are forming, storming, norming and performing.

The first stage of Tuckmans group development is forming. During the forming stage, group memebers with get to know one other and try to decide weather they belong in the group or not. During this stage members will assess the strengths and weaknesses of other members in the group. Individuals will get to know their roles within the group and will make decisions on weather they can fulfil (or want to fulfil) their roles in the group.

The second stage is the storming stage. at this stage conflict begins to develop between individuals in the group. it is common for individuals to start questioning the authority of the leader, and they will start to resist the control of the group. During the stroming stage, the formal leader in the group tends to take on more of a guidance role with decision-making and helps the team to move towards what is expected in terms of proffesional behavior.

Stage 3 is the norming stage. At this stage members of the team start to work as a team. As the group cohesion developments, group satification increases (from achieveing tasks) and levels od repects from members of the group increase.

The last stage of tuckman group development is performing. This involves the team progressing and fuctioning effectively as a unit. the group works without conflict towards the achievement of shared goals and objectives. The group is now more knowledgeable, and able to make its own decisions and take responsibility for them.

2) A sporting example of Tuckmans would be Chelsea Football Club.
The first stage they had was forming, they brought in a brand new manager who had to get used to his new players whilst more players were brought into the club so they also had to form with their new manager and new teammates.
The second stage was the storming they had to do. Before the season started Conte had to try and get his players participating in specific drills that will specifically help certain players, players would start getting frustrated if they thought they were making no progress or not enjoying what they were doing, resulting in early conflict.
