I enjoyed researching about Spain's cultures, and traditions throughout these 8 weeks. I was most interested in learning about its food traditions. Lots of food I enjoy I didn't know originated in Spain. I also liked learning about Spain's tourist attractions. I definitly want to visit the Siam Waterpark at some point in my life. I would also love to see the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia in person since the architecture is very impressive. One other thing i'd love to visit is the Seville Fair. Being such an attraction worldwide, I would love to visit. Learning about Spain has brought up lots of cultural differences. Many being their traditions/dances and music. Spain has lots of traditions that might seem unusal to people from the U.S. running of the Bulls, for instance, wouldn't be something you'd see in the U.S. Another common thing in Spain is cultural dance; Flamenco dancing, Bolero dancing, etc. These types of dances/music are not something youd generally see living in the U.S. The architecture in Spain is also extremely different. Since Spain is such a christianized country (being in Europe) lots of the structures are built in a church/cathedral type of way. Although Spain has plenty of differences from the United States, the sports do have some similarities. Futbol, or "soccer" in the U.S. are both heavily popular sports, with another being their basketball teams. Overall, Spain was very fun to learn about, and I'm glad I chose it to be my research country.
