Can it be read with text-to-speech recognition? Why or why not?

For me, this was able to be read with text-to-speech. It was kind of confusing because of the way it was read. I think it was confusing because the article discusses and includes dialogue/conversations. After the article was done being read, it started reading the captions under the ads and pictures on the sides.

Was it easier to read? Why?

I opened the link in multiple browsers and still did not have access to download Mercy Reader. It said that this item was not available.

After I opened the article in immersive reader, it was easier to read. This is because my eyes could focus, and the screen did not have so much going on. It was easier to focus on what I was reading rather than getting distracted by all the ads on the outer edge of the reading.

What features, in general, are

available to support all learners, including pre-readers?

As it read to me, I really liked that it used a box around each word as it read it. It helps students follow along in the text. I found an option for the speed of reading - slower, medium, and faster. Epic also provides a Lexile category to choose from. If the student can't read, there are pictures provided predict what the book/video is about! Lastly, there is a grade level range provided with the length of the book.
