Through all the time in this project I learned so many things. I learned to improve my arguments using not only myself opinion. Till this project I didn't know anything about debates or the structure of it. I had a good practise of trying compare contra arguments during the debating. But I'm not really confidence about improving my English skills, because of stress and nerves. I appreciate the the benefit of this debates I mean experience working in group, preparing information, training with unknown people. It was little bit strange to understand each other because of accent so I would like to change the way I suggest to change video debates into chat debates because it would be easier to understand each other. But I think it was exciting and good experience to me because I have learnt more than I was supposed to.
-Deimatė Lukaševičiūtė

So, the project was quite fun. It was a blast taking part in it and chatting with foreing people. I wouldn't call my part of the project to be a success, but atleast I had an enjoyable time in it.
I have learned many things on topics I didn't expect to learn. For example veganism. Though I gotta admit, it was interesting finding out more on the topics I was given.
I definetly feel that I have improved my english skills, especially speaking. I kind of started speaking a bit more fluently and firmly, which is pretty nice.
For changes, I would advice the project directors to prepare programs or websites for the debates, because some of the students had problems getting in to chat groups...
Anywho, it was an interesting experience and I wouldn't mind doing something like this again, but only with my consent.
- Ya boi, Jonas

After this project I'm feeling energetic, because after ths debates, I feel like I have learned how to gatheri information and prepare for the topics and also improve my speaking skills. In my opinion speaking was the most honorable thing about debates, beacuse I think it was extremaly useful experience for both countries, by explointing work with unknown people before the exams. I wouldn't change anything in this project, because I think everything was balanced. It was my first time participating in this kind of projects, so I can't compare it with something else.

This kind of homework I had was new for me and I guess not only for me.
I feel that, by preparing the topics, I learned new words and improved my vocabulary. I started to understand what is the structure of debates and what is important for them.
The french people were very nice and I appreciate them, because they took their time to talk with us, they were friendly and easy-going.
Overall, the project was fun and interesting, I met new people and improved my english by a lot.
- Tomaš Pilecki

I am very glad that I got the opportunity to take part in this project! As for my personal experience with it, despite that we had some trouble communicating with our partners the second time and the recording of debates had failed, it was still very fun. During the first round, we got along with students from France very well, debates itself went not so successfully for our group, but I noticed a huge improvement the second time, which just goes to show that this project definitely had a positive outcome. Not only did this project expanded my knowledge on the topics of debates, making my opinion on the given issues stronger, but it also improved my ability to confidently express and justify it. Even though I had to support opinions with which I don’t agree during debates before, this project was a turning point in really seeing a benefit in that. It was a good lesson to really try to get someones motives and reasoning behind why they think the way they do before assuming anything and to not see debates as simply trying to convince others of a position given to me, but rather as broadening my horizonts and learning about others as well as myself. I really appreciate the people that took time to make this project happen as well as the participants of it for making it an enjoyable experience. I loved the idea of it so I wouldn‘t change anything about it, however, sad to say, I think it wasn‘t fully fulfilled, after all, mistakes are part of a learning process, so a thing to take into account for future projects would be a way to organise the debates so connection problems/ recording fails would be avoided while still keeping a format of a video. Regardless, it is quite sad that it is already the end of it. I really hope to keep in touch and that there will be more projects in the future, because I can confidently say that projects like this are one of the most enriching and remarkable experiences. Thank you! :)

I didn't knowed what the world wants to make a agreement just to ban the factories for polution or did you heard what people can live whitout meat eating only fruits and vegatables. I have to admit it was hard to talk whit unfamiliar people. I allways tried to make everything good as possible but as allways it went bad :D I appreciat my partners because they helped me whit information and let me choose when i want to talk. I would like to change what day then we had the first debate it went terrible. Thanks for the project again :)

First of all, it was such a great experience because I had the opportunity to improve my english in trying a new way to debate and then in trying to understand the others and improvise some answers. Yet, problems of connection were the most frustrating and sometimes it was long to find a way to debate. But except this I really enjoyed debating and talking with Lithuanian people. I learned a lot of things about this country and their culuture. It was interesting and funny to discover and create a friendship with people who are far away from us. This project is pretty good but it still has to get improvements in the way to debate and more generally in the communication between the two countries because sometimes some informations wasn't clear. Anyways, it's well thought out and I thank our teachers.

This project was original and gave us food for thought, because of the debates and the discovery of a new culture even though it wasn't the main goal of the project. If we had had more hours together on our schedule, it would have been more convenient because we could have time to exchange a bit more. I guess that we had organization problems and this is the reason why some debates didn't take place. However I had a lot of fun preparing arguments and looking for information, but I trully felt frustrated to see that most of our work was vain because we had appointments and everything... Thanks for all, I'm so bliss to have the chance to meet stranger teenagers and exchange peacefully on fascinating topics.

Well mayby we had some problems like: time managment or even not having a debates, still we had "fun" time. We learned about culture of others, improved our English skills, thats very important, and had fun time chatting while waiting for every one to connect or while speaking. Can't deny that mayby something went wrong like misunderstand with each others, but we managed to overcome those difficulties and have some great experience with these kind of a project.

This project has very beautiful and some bad moments but generally I enjoyed it.
I really like the idea, purpose of the project so I'm thankful for our France partners and our teacher for the big job :) That was nice to communicate with other culture and get to know each other. It was the interesting way to improve our english. (Actually was intrigued by almost all the debate topics and maybe that was the motivation to improve my english and express my self clearer).
But there was some bad, complicated moments. Sad to remember all difficulties with connection, planing our time and doing everything on time- that was the big headache for all of us :D I think not all expectations fulfilled, because not all of us assigned enough time for this project and sometimes the work was done anyhow. However problems and some stress let us to grow, to became more responsible, smarter ,wiser ,more confident. Moreover that was the great opportunity to simply communicate and make some virtual friends and just to get new experience.
Overall I want to thank for all and hope to have more projects like this to have opportunity to become better at it, because it felt like not all goals came true.
 ~Julija

Personaly the first part of the project (when we had to present ourself) was more motivating because at the beginning of the debate we weren't motivated and it was really hard to come over all the issues we had to confront. But I want to add that it remains a good project and I'm glad to have met lithanian people :)

First of all, this project was forced onto the students, on each side, and no teacher asked for our opinion, or even if we wanted to do it.
As a result, because a majority didn't like the project, there was a big lack of motivation on each side.
Then, the debate idea was good, but the subjects were not, and it was bringing nothing more to debate with strangers than with our classmates. The subjects were not made to discover the other culture, but only to discuss things that have been already discussed a million times before.
Then, the technical issues we had, the fact that we had to do everything at home, and the researches we had to do before got us a lot of work, and took a lot of time, and this is a time that we didn't have; so part of us scamped this.
Finally, there was also bad faith on each side, with fake excuses to avoid debating, or even agressivity. It was really rude, and made the other people feel upset.
To conclude, this project didn't bring me much, took me a lot of time and work, so I'm pretty disappointed because I was very excited at first.
But I would like to congratulate the few people who really got into it.

However, we encountered too many problem in order to do properly these debates. Because of our school's lack in technologies, we had problems in organizing around our schedules and around everyone motivation... Maybe the fact that we had to do our debates from home made us a little bit more lazy. Also, all the technological problem were to blame too. The deadlines were really short too! Overall, this was a great experience as we could discover another culture that we didn't know a lot about and a new way of debating. But it's really upsetting that we couldn't make use of it even though we had worked hard to match their way of debating.

It's sad to say but if Viala doesn't improve the technologies, i don't think that doing this project again would be useful...

I found that project nice, the ide was great, even if we had many technical difficulties. The debates were nice and i had fun, but our school connexion was a fence we couldn't cross. We got problems with the softwares too, the audio, the videos themselves sometimes were corrupted :). I am amazed that we have done that, since the language was a barrier and english broke it for an instant. We discovered few about each other culture and habits, and it was interesting for the few i looked at. Still, another problem was the deadlines. I know that because of the jet lag, we were forced to deal with it but still i found it annyoing. Anyway i found this project quite fun and i would do it again surely if i could, in better conditions.

PS: That was a nice help for exams orals in fact.

Raphaêl.

I found that project quite interesting in the idea of sharing and exchanging with people from other countries, especially in the beginning, when we had to discover the other nation and present our own. Then, it was a little bit disappointing because students were less involved in the project, and in my case, I just can't debate. Furthermore, I would have liked learning more about Lithuania. By the way, it was sometimes funny to exchange text messages with them !

First of all i would like to thank our teachers that they found time and energy to organize this project. It really brought some colours to our monotonous and boring school life. We got to know different people, different cultures and of course we improved our rhetorical skills. Of course we had some technical difficulties and also we lacked organizing skills, but at the end we all learned something. I hope that next time will be more successful :D
Thanks everyone for participating although I wasn't really active myself :D Sorry for that :D

I am very glad that I took part in this project. I really enjoyed the process of debating (researching, looking for arguments, giving contra-arguments etc.) It improved my ability to clearly express my point of view and validate my arguments. While doing my research for debates, as well as seeing presentations about France I've learned loads of new things that aroused my curiosity. I am really glad that we did this educational project with people from foreign country. Getting to know each other was not only fun, but it was also a great way to identify and learn to tolerate cultural differences. Even though there was some miscommunication, I would gladly do something similar in the future due to the benefits this project had. I would like to thank the participants and people who organised the project and made it a valuable experience.
-Digna
