#1. What role do twins play in the study of human growth?

Because twins have the same DNA, scientists can use them to determine which behaviors are caused by the environment or genetics. A good example the video gives is comparing identical twins that grew up separated from each other, to twins that grew up in the same household together to show the influence different environments can cause.

#2. What role do genes and the environment play in human growth?

Human brains are programmed from birth to respond positively to being surrounded by other human beings. Humans spend a longer period of time to develop compared to other animals. Scientists think that the extended amount of time it takes humans to develop has allowed us to reach the top of the Animal Kingdom.

#1. What are some of the changes that are examined by developmental psychology?

Physical, mental, and emotional changes are examined in the video by developmental psychology. For example, alcohol exposure during a baby's development inside the womb could cause long-term physical effects. Losing a parent or not getting enough attention from parents as a child could cause long-term emotional effects on a child throughout their life.
