Silk was originally made in China.
The main places around the world that has produced silk the most is China, India, United States and Uzbekistan.
Only China and India are the main places now that makes silk, but lots of countries like to help in the process.
China was not the place that have to make it and keep going, it was found out by accident by Xi Ling Shi and got made, then it got popular.

Silk can be a really good thing for people and is unharmfull to the environment. Its good for being hypoallergenic, comfortable, potentially beneficial for skin and hair and also holding cultural and economic significance for people and places.

You need silkworm to even make it happen, Mulberry leaves from the Mulberry tree, cocoons, silk fibres, sericin and loom to make silk.
The materials from the process is from the silkworm and China, the people are from China, India and other parts of Asia but also do the dyeing of the colours, weaving and the designer for this process.

Someone called Xi Ling Shi accidentally discovered what silk was when a cocoon feel into her tea cup, she then told everyone in her town, it then got spread all around China, everyone started making it, and China was trying to keep it a secret to the world.
The materials and process to this making might affect people in a good way because there's no reason to why its a bad reason.

step 1. When the silkworms cocoon has harvested there shown to high heat to stop the grown worms from emerging.

step 2. The workers brush the cocoon to find the loose end and put it in a porcelain eyelet and onto a reel that unravels silk strands.

step 3. The last string gets put into a machine that then clips the silk strands onto another.

step 4. The workers twist the silk strands to make them into yarn.

step 5. The silk yarn gets put into a roller.

step 6. They dye/bleach the silk into different colours.

step 7. After they dye it they leave it out to dry, then they sew the silk into something ( e.g pillow case, bed sheet, clothes etc)

This process affects people in a good way because economy when people get jobs for making silk and selling the silk.
Making silk is not harmful to the environment but does hurt the Silkworms.
After that they send it off to different countries like Untied states.

Silk is marketed when they ship the products over to different countries to sell.
This gets people jobs so its a good impact on people.

Silk has been sold all around the world but United States, Europe and Japan are the main places due to cultural reasons.
Silk is a popular and has a good impact on people because it is luxurious and a breathable material that can be good for sheets, clothes and home decorations.
Even though it does come with some bad things like the material can rip easily more than others, it is a really good product.
