Adding on, with the luxury of having internet almost everywhere we go, we tend to be very dependent on it. From learning how to cook to helping us in our education, the internet has an answer for all of it. Our thinking has narrowed down and we don’t have the ability to think creatively without the aid of the internet. Moreover, with web communication the way of living of users has been more accessible and interesting. They get to learn about the different cultures and their heritage because of web communication. However, this also has its cons as some people are so addicted to web communication that they do not know how to communicate with people in real life anymore

I do agree with the points discussed in the video to a certain extent. This is because I have seen most of what was said in the viral video happening in real life. One example would be the part where she stated that we do not address our elders as sir or mdm anymore. To add on, one of the points which she said that was very relatable was the part where we idolise the wrong people and music genres which discriminate women and celebrate the use of drugs and alcohol. One point which I disagree with is when she said that we do not open the doors for others, I do not think that she should have generalised such a statement as there are many millennials who still do.

In my opinion, I feel that the internet makes us much stupider as it makes us lazier to go the extra mile to search for the information we need. Since it’s always in our reach we only access it when we are in need of it most. When we take a look back at the olden days where the internet and technology wasn’t used basically for everything, we can see that people would always go out of their way to get things done. For example, if they wanted a book or newspaper article they would go down to the library or the nearest bookstore to get it. To add on, we often encounter advertisements when we Google for information. It has been proven that those advertisements create confusion in our brain and rewires our thinking, all in all making us much dumber.

Firstly, one of the pros of using web communication is that we are easily connected to people all over the world. This means we don’t have to travel half way across earth to attend a business meeting or talk to a friend who migrated overseas. Another pro would be that we can save cost communicating online. This brings us back to the first point where I said that we didn’t have to travel to see someone or attend something, hence we will be able to save money as we won’t have to buy plane tickets and everything else needed. Thirdly, one con would be that we can get sidetracked or distracted when we are communicating online. Since the people we are communicating with are not exactly there with us we tend to get distracted and we may miss out on important things that we conversed. 

I have mixed feelings about this video. Firstly, the YouTuber is  biased against Millennials and doesn't even mention a single thing that Millennials are good at. 

I do not agree with the points discussed as firstly, she says that Millennials have no manners - which isn't exactly true as she is basing it off a few Millennials and it is not an conclusive statement of all Millennials . 

Secondly, she also says that Youth spend more time making Facebook friends - what's wrong with that? Some kids suffer with social anxiety or a just socially awkward so online platform help them make friends without the fear and anxiety would have  normally. 

Lastly, she also says that millennials do not contribute anything- which is not true. They may not contribute financially as they are still studying. However , gay rights have been improved drastically because of our Millennials who have fought for it. Gay people didn't have much rights in the past, and who can we thank for that? Millennials.

Millennials might be given more opportunities than before, but they also do have more pressure placed upon them than ever before.

It has both its pros and cons. The pros are that there Is more information available , for research and especially essential to students . They can widen their horizon on what's happening around the world. 

It's bad as It can be an unsafe place that has predators if not used correctly which can lead to sexual assault and cyber crimes.

The pros of web communication is firstly it's efficiency. Through web communication, messages can be transmitted in a matter of seconds. It also allows large data sharing.  It connects people who are unable to meet face to face and helps those who live far from their families to keep in touch.  It also gives you a platform to find and meet people with similar interests/ passions. 

The cons of web communication is that people loose the ability to communicate in real life and sometimes even go so comfortable with web communication that they don't have real interaction. Through web communication, rate of bullying and scamming has also increased.  People are so used to getting instant replies, that they are getting impatient at a faster rate.

I do agree with her points. One of which would be the millennials not respecting the elders as this can be observed in our daily lives. Millennials tend to give more importance to their social life online rather than to real life. Thus they end up neglecting relationships in real life.

This allows us to learn things over the internet without the hassle of travelling. Although it makes us smarter, it makes us lazy too. It causes us to find shortcuts to everything.

Web communication has made our lives easier as we are able to communicate with others without distance and time being a barrier. However, using web communication too much has resulted in people facing difficulties in communicating with others in real life.

2) It is making us more stupid. Since we rely on it so much we don’t know if the information in there is true at all but we just believe it. It is also causing us to rely on technology more.

3)The pros of using web communication is that we can easily share information with others more easily. We can also easily communicate with others from a long with the help of applications like WhatsApp. The cons is that people spend too much time on it.  They will lose their real life friends when spending too much time on this.

An advantage is that people can communicate either via texts using applications like WatsApp or “face-to face” using applications like Skype regardless of geographical distance. A disadvantage is that some may get carried away with communicating with their friends that they procrastinate or forget about tasks that have to be more urgently done.

Many a time, the internet deters us from thinking of the answers for questions. This hinders our thought process and intellectual development. For instance, a student is given homework on Mathematics but he decides to search for the working and answer online. This defeats the purpose of the question given to him. Thus, in this way, the Internet makes us more stupid.

To some extent , i agree that yes , the millennials are given more opportunities to succeed than the generation x and yes the songs that some of us listen to are songs that degrade women and glorify drugs but she fails to also talk about the positive side of our generation's music. Stars such as Troye Sivan, Hailee Steinfeld  and Beyoncé have released music that targets crucial and sensitive topics such as Black Lives Matter, feminism and LGBTQ+ so i think that it is unacceptable that she chooses to generalise the whole generation . Also , she mentioned how we millennials just simply post a status to support an issue and how it does not do any good however, i feel that it definitely creates an impact on others because in this century where technology has the power to link ideas and people , by posting about something important in our various social media platforms, we raise awareness and also make those that are not aware to be curious and hence ,  this probes them to find out more about the issue whether through the person who posted the status or by themselves. Therefore , to conclude , as much as she is speaking some facts , her speech is mostly biased and generalised and hence i do not agree with her.

in my opinion , the internet is definitely making us smarter as it exposes us to many different contents that we cannot just access immediately. Of course , the internet can also feed on our laziness and make us become dependent on it to function but however , if used correctly and with control then certainly the internet makes us smarter.

web communication has many pros and cons but however , i want to narrow it down to two important points for each topic. firstly , pros of web communication. Variety is a pro as it with the variety of emojis , pictures and gifts , we are able to convey what we are feeling easily through these forms of media . Secondly , we are able to talk to someone else without the need to be in the same country and an example is Skype. Now , the cons of web communication. A con is the fact that we are not using a face to face interaction platform , we would not be able to see the reaction and the faces of the person that we are talking to . Also, if the web communication is for an e learning , the person viewing the material might not have the concentration and could be easily distracted.

There are a few pros of communicating with technology. In terms of mobility it’s really convenient for us as we are able to carry our devices around. It makes it more feasible for us to have access to the internet. Also, applications such as Google drive are very helpful for educational purposes. It’s easy for us to save our assignments and keep them organised. However, there can also some cons of communicating with technology. It’s essential that we are able to control our emotions well when we post something online as we will not be able to tell on who are the audiences. To add on, some online posts may cause unhappiness, hence we should not let ourselves be affected by all that.

The millennial claimed that we do not contribute to the society however I disagree as being the millennials we are able to teach our elderly how to use the internet and through that the elderly generation before us are able to stay connected to this digital world as well. It is however true that we tend to idolize people who do not actually change lives in a positive manner. Rather we just idolize certain people for the popularity rather than for their deeds to the society. The number of followers we have is what we care most about. We believe that having more follower’s means that we are a better person. This is what the millennials believe in and we care most about the number of likes we gin in each post we post on our social media. Rather than doing this, we should try to spread more humanity through ouyr social media to people who follow us.

As a result of this the crime rates are elevating from the time internet has been advancing.  If we would want to be a more responsible netizen, it is only advantageous for us to be aware of what we search and what we learn from the internet to not become stupid by using the internet.

The more and more connectivity we have around the world, the more objects will be synced to the internet. Even though this allows ease of communication and transferring of information, there is a downside to this. We tend to loose personal connection and physical touch via the internet.

To a certain extend I would agree and disagree to the points that was raised in the viral video from a millennial. There was a point that was raised that the current generation are not contributing anything to society which I will disagree. If our current generation is not contributing anything to the society then how are we using the technology which makes our lives easier? The current generations are the ones who are researching, finding and creating new solutions to the problems with the use of technology.

To a certain extend I would agree that the current generation do not have manners. Some of them do not have the basic courtesy to say thank you when they have received a help from another person. This could be the cause of technology where many of them do not have the need to come in contact with each other very often.

Pros

Web communication is efficient to a certain extend as we are able to communicate with others without the need of travelling. Hence, web communication helps to save our travelling time. Some of them are introvert, they tend to share their ideas freely when they have web communication. Web communication is very flexible as we can communicate and keep in touch with anyone at any point of time wherever you are. 

Cons

With web communication we will not be able to capture the physical cues of a person. For example their facial expression and body language. Sometimes with web communication we tend to communicate a lot ending up with information overload. When we are communicating using web we tend to side track by multi-tasking and we might not give our 100% attention to the conversation.

I agree with what the lady said. It is true that the millennials are existing and not contributing to our society. This is a result of being entitled to everything without due hard work that the generations before us had to put in before they were entitled to have something. We the millennials have allowed social media to take over our lives  where we update every single minute of our day on our facebook status. It’s true that we pay more attention to the amount of friends we have on facebook rather than the number of friends that we have in reality. Due to this millennials are very anti-social as we do not build relationships in the real world, therefore resulting us to have bad manners as we are not able to differentiate between the real world and online world.

There are always two sides to a coin, likewise for web communication.Web communication allows us to connect with another person from the other side of the world without travelling this is especially useful for businesses as it makes meetings efficient. This will thus lead to a boost of business. Secondly web communication gives children the opportunity to learn beyond their classroom and it gives them the opportunity to learn from wherever they are and upload it for an example on Google drive, emails. On the other hand web communications do have their cons. Web  communications allow us to express ourselves but however how we express ourselves in words might not be the same when we meet each other in person and this sometimes might give the wrong message leading to problems. Secondly web communications are not always efficient as they run via the use of the internet , if the internet service breaks down the informations that being needed to be passed does not reach the other party. This is especially crucial for businesses As it might lead to losses.

We are able to get instant information whenever needed and whenever in doubt we are able to “Google it up” and increase our knowledge. We are kept up to date on happenings all around the world and we even are able to do our part to help through various online portals and sites. Although we are rather dependent on it which makes us vulnerable , it assists us in many ways thus it’s making us smarter.

I agree to the points that was discussed in the video by the Millennial to a certain extend. Millennial also known as the strawberry generation forget their manners due to their digital identity. We try to find short ways for everything, spoiling ourselves. We build fake relationships instead of real stong ones.

2. I feel that the internet makes us both smart and stupid at varying times. This is because of the convenience from the internet, as it making things such as research easier. Anything can be googled at any time of the day, leaving information accessibility at our fingertips. However the same convenience could make us stupid, as we would google everything instead thinking and making educated guesses then checking.

This is due to the ease of access that it comes with, as the internet is an open space that everyone has access to web communication at any time of the day, so messages do not take time to be sent like the past.

I agree to the points discussed in the video to a large extent. I would agree that millennials do not contribute to the society, all they do is just exist. Moreover she also stated that the millennials do not value what they get instead they take advantage. Nowadays people especially youths take what they have for granted. They do not value what they have instead they either complain about what they lack. I strongly agree to what the woman in the video said about how millennials let the number of followers on Instagram define them when in reality it does not matter at all. 

 I would say that the internet is making us smarter. The moment we type something on google within seconds hundreds on website tabs appears on our digital screens. With the internet we are able to gather information that is circulating around the world and keep it in our fingertips. The internet can feed our brain with a lot of knowledge if we us it in the right way. 

   - The Internet also reduces our bias. When meeting someone online we do not know what this person looks like. We only know what they tell us. Without appearance biases, communication on the Internet becomes much different than more traditional forms of communication.

1) I agree to some of the points stated such as the point, “existing and not contributing anything to the society” as it is true as most of the teenagers and youths nowadays are looking for a reason to spend time with their loved ones and enjoy the time they have and not thinking about their surroundings, not even the problems faced by their neighbours. However, I disagree to some of the points such as not having basic manners and not holding the door open for ladies or elders. This is because today kids are being taught these manners since a young age in schools to give respect to their elders. In Singapore, giving up seats in MRT trains for those who need it more is encouraged and practiced by all. Therefore, I partially agree to the points stated and partially disagree hose as well because of the practice and influence that changes the youths today to become more aware of their society and surrounding and people around them.

2) I feel that the internet is making people both smarter and stupid at various times. Sometimes, it’s provides information that we did not know. Most of the time, people go to the internet to clear any doubts they have. It provides us with online newspaper to learn about the world news way faster than actually buying a printed newspaper. But, on the other side, it also makes us stupid in the way that we tend to believe everything that is on the internet and does not analyse if the information provided is correct. And, we tend to take other people’s point of view as the correct piece of information.

3) One of the pros of using web communicating is relatives who stay in long distances can communicate for free. They do not need to worry about the increasing phone bill. They can have a constant communication with their loved ones in other countries as well. On the other side, cons will include miscommunication in the text or the message sent. As these online communication are not as effective and clear as face-to-face communication, there might be misunderstandings between the sender and the recipient of the message. Therefore, on the whole even though web communication are useful, I recommend them to be used once on a while and using more of phone communication.

  I agree to a certain extent with the video. Millennials also known as ‘strawberry generation’ are found to be lazy, narcissistic and ignorant. They are self obsessed people, instead of benefiting the community , they just look after their own back. Everything they do are is for their reputation in social media, the reality world is not much of an importance for them.

   The internet makes us smarter, it helps us in many ways. We learn so much from the internet, like information about the current world or facts that you are interested to know. However our generation is using the internet for unnecessary purposes which might flip my stand at the start in years to come.

   

Pros: Faster way to communicate with whomever we wish. Easier way to gain knowledge instead of using books from library.

Cons: Addiction to web communication that make us forget about communicating in the real world. Scams and scandals are common in web communication now as there are many catfishes out there.
