It takes the new moon about one week to reach first quarter. I think this phase is called quarter moon because we see half of the moon on earth, yet we actually see a quarter of the moon.

I'm not for sure but I think it take the new moon about 7 or 6 days to reach the first quarter cause it has to go though all the other phase and I think it's called this because it's 1/4 orf the moon just like an quarter ilike 1/4 of a dallor

It would take it about 3 days because after the new moon there is a crescent then the first quarter. It is called the quarter moon because it only shows 1/4 of it.

I think it would probably take about a week for the new moon to become the first quarter. The quarter moon is called that because it is a quarter of the way done from being a full moon.

it takes 3.6 days to go to the next phase so the new moon would be off 7.2 days before it reaches the first quarter. I don't really know why it's called a quarter but maybe it's a quarter of the whole moon cycle.
