1793 Cotton was said to have a big impact on slavery in the south. It was in big demand but removing the seeds from it slowed down production. Slaves were used to speed up producing cotton. They were cash cows. The Cotton Gin made picking cotton easier and slaves were a big part of this for plantations. So keeping slavery alive in the south was very important

Nat Turner's Revolt made laws against slaves ever worse just to send a message but many say that his revolt lit a flame for the Civil War because most Northern States were against slavery. the revolt also showed how blacks really felt about being enslaved and it showed how slavery was effecting blacks. The revolt also put fear in whites which was something blacks felt everyday. Nat Turner's Revolt may not have been that successful but it was a little piece that played a huge part in ending slavery.
