During this time, Hitler wanted the so-called “Sudetenland” to be a part of Germany because of the high number of German people in this country. The goal of the Munich agreement was to maintain peace, but Nazi Germany still invaded the Bohemia and Moravia regions.

Filipino people had to walk over 65 miles to their prison, and many died on the way. Filipino soldiers fought at Manila Bay, The Battle of Bataan, and the Battle of Corregidor.

The rough terrain made it difficult for both sides to fight since much of the land was a jungle, but they both put up a tough fight. Japan evacuated Guadalcanal on February 8, 1943, after Emperor Hirohito told Japanese soldiers to leave the Island, and Guadalcanal became under control of the Allies.

This also was the turning point for the Allies, because it gave the Allies hope that they could win the war.

There were hundreds of thousands of casualties, but in the end, German forces surrendered, and the Allies had another victory.
