Layover: Customs is NOT ready for the influx of visitors. The entire line filled up and flowed back up the stairs. We had to take the elevators all the way to the left to get around the crowd. One of the FAs brought their spouse and they had to wait 3 hours arriving and leaving through customs. It was apparently on the local news. Layover hotel has a great location, might be a short walk to the main road or they were shuttle your bag. Rooftop infinity pool, basement level pool with sauna and water therapy. Breakfast was around 10 Euro and excellent. Great seafood, highly recommend going to the fish market and they will cook fresh catches for you on the spot. There's an all you can eat sushi place a block from the hotel which was tasty for lunch. There's a hop on, hop off ferry to local islands for around 35 Euro. Skip it and go direct to docks, costs 3 Euro to get to an island. The fisherman's village island was too sleepy and not worth seeing. I quite enjoyed the island with the lighthouse. It had quiet beaches and a little bar that served seafood and Sangria. If you'd like to pretend you're 20 again, Albuferia is 45 minutes up the road and basically a British Mardi Gras all day. Lots of eco tourism, kayaking, paddle boards, caves to explore. I used Viator app to look up local tours and a hostel nearby to check on events.
