         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>(Reading 1) Practicing Sustainable Self-Determination: </strong></div><div><strong>Indigenous Approaches to Cultural Restoration and Revitalization </strong></div><div>The intersection between environmental destruction, and the ability for Indigenous peoples to practice cultural as well as sustainable cultivation practices. The difference between place-based communities, or peoples who have relationships with their homelands as an integral and mutually beneficial part of their identities, in contrast to state environments. As a result of this, a “struggle to reclaim and regenerate ones” existence arises at the expense of dispossession and attempted assimilation policies, creating identity discourse within Indigenous groups. <br><br><strong>Key Concepts:</strong><br>- Colonialism in Contemporary society<br>- Politics of Recognition, Performativity and Rights discourses<br>- Decolonisation and Self determination<br>- Resurgence </div>]]></description>
