         <description><![CDATA[<div>Q1 - As teachers, we need to create a growth mindset culture. One where mistakes are celebrated as growth opportunities. By doing this we are creating an environment of excitement to take risks. Once we have that, we can delve deeply into learning.<br><br>We also need to hand the reins to students&nbsp;regarding to what we learn about... at least for part of the week. Listen to the students and then value them by designing tasks around student passions.<br><br>Q2 - I have nothing to compare to :)&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Q1: Depending on the student however I will generalise. The majority of my students have a lot of issues, the main one being anxiety issues, how big or intense depends on whats going on in their lives outside of training. The first step for me is I need to get to know my students and they need to get to know me. The first three weeks I like to build a rapport and establish trust, I want them to know that I am human and approachable and I AM NOT a college teacher but a VET teacher whose goal is to help them develop skills that they could use in the workforce, achieve a qualification and the ultimate help them get work.<br>In some of their eyes a teacher is a teacher regardless of whatever they teach and if there has been bad experiences in the past sadly you are classified. Breaking down the barriers is really important.<br>Next I would work on trying to build self esteem (depending on the circumstances), suggesting support services if necessary. Keeping their motivation up by implementing different teaching styles and methods. Building their confidence, developing strong bonds and relationships within the group and getting them to help each other, which works, as most of them have a 'story' to share.<br> Q2: Goal orientation and personal autonomy are hooked at the hip, without each other the outcomes would not be possible.<br>What comes first 'the chicken or the egg or the egg and the chicken?'. The same principles probably would apply depending on the circumstances.
