What is it : - Smart recycling bin - This bin would have sensors to identify recyclable materials, these sensors can also detect when the bin is full. It would also have a connected app to track your recycling habits, it will also provide tips to reduce waste based on your carbon footprint . Not only does it promote eco-friendliness, it can also be used in schools across the globe to educate students on sustainability and how to reduce their carbon footprint. It will also have a built-in humidifier to overtake the bad odors and keep pests and flies away which can be controlled by the app to regulate the amount of essential oil being put out by the humidifier. The bin also comes with reusable cloth bags to reduce the use of plastic bags. Concept proof: - Problem: bins are not sustainable making it hard for people to recycle and they release odors. Plus they also make it hard for people to keep checking if the bin is full. Normal bins dont notify you on the recyclability of the item being thrown away. - Solution: to make bins more sustainable the bin detects all recyclable materials and also tracks all your recycling habits to provide tips and tricks on how to improve your carbon footprint and also how to introduce sustainability into your homes. To solve the odors, there will cbe a mini humidifier controlled via the app to regulate the amount of fragrance being put out by the bin. The sensors on the bin sense when the bin is full and send a notification to the user via the app. If the item you are throwing away is not recyclable , there is compartment for general waste items that would not be able to be recycled.

The Auto-Bin is a bin that senses that when someone throws away garbage, they get a candy from a dispenser. It also senses what kind of garbage it is. It senses if it is general waste or recyclable.

Cable Management 2.0

So, cable management has started recently. But I've seen many people thinking that cable management is a lot of work. So, I thought of making some improvements to it. As you can see in Fig. 1, there are 2 pieces to make cable management better. The circular piece at the back can be used to secure cables from tripping over and to prevent them from tangling. It works by opening it up in half and putting the cable in. Then you use another piece that is seen sticking out in Fig. 1 to secure it in place using a double-sided tape/velcro. The piece at the front is to secure it using double-sided tape/velcro from accidentally yanking it. This stops it in place, saving you a lot of time and hassle to fix it again. In the sides of the front piece, you can see a part of it sticking out on both sides. This can be used to attach more than one at the same time. You can also make it in different colours to identify it easily. There is also a place to put labels. I made it thicker so it can be more durable. If you check others, they're easily broken or too small. This was made by me, so I don’t need any assumptions about this. My name is Abdullah Ehsan 9BA
