This was the first time Atomic bombs were actually used during war. The bombs killed between 129,000 and 226,000, while most were civilians. U.S. dropped the bombs on Hirshima and Nagasaki because they wantedf a quick surrender from the Japanese, which worked since Japan surrendered 15 days after the bombings, leading to the end of the war.

The Battle of Stalingrad was a battle between Germany and the Soviet Union after Germany tried to take over the city of Stalingrad from Russia. Luckily, Germany did not come out victorious and Russia kept their city with their win.
