Email is a very common means for unscrupulous people to try to trick us in almost any way.
That morning José Luis was waiting behind the counter at his
hotel when he saw an email that he was happy to receive because it was for the
benefit of the hotel. It was a luxury reservation of 5 rooms for 10 people, something you don't get every day.
They tried to convince us that we had won the lottery, that
someone wanted to share their fortune with us, in this case we received a very
luxurious application for the hotel.
A person located in any part of the world sent us a modified
email, whose sender was not very reliable
Their aim was to make us believe in email, because once they
had gained our trust, the next step was to install malware, request our details or access our bank account.
The aim was to infect our systems and steal customer card
credentials or bank access cards to steal our money.
How we detected it
Check if the person sending the mail exists at the company
where he or she says he or she works.
Visit the website of the "company" from which the
mail is apparently being sent. If the antivirus reports a problem.
Search for the mail in Google to see if it appears on
websites specializing in email fraud.
Check the spelling, sometimes arriving with spelling and
grammatical errors typical of a translation with some online tool.

Solution
In this case, the hotel detected by its own means, following
the steps described above, that this was an attempt at fraud and alerted the
authorities. They followed the correct steps and also learned to avoid becoming
victims of the fraud.

These days of confinement, many online platforms are giving away content. And of course, digital criminals are there to take advantage and confuse you.
You may have received or are receiving a message via whatsapp referring to a Netflix promotion. In this one, they claim to give away free passes using COVID-19 as a hook.
The Internet Security Bureau has reported that this is a type of pishing. The Internet Security Bureau has reported that this is a type of pishing. It is possible that this scam will spread to other platforms, so be on the lookout.
How do you proceed with these cyber-frauds?
If you have already clicked on the link and left your personal and bank details, contact your financial institution as soon as possible to inform them of what has happened. Also, if you used the same password that you use for other accesses - which we do not recommend - change the passwords.

Solutions to close the case:
Firstly, doubt its authenticity. Even if it was sent to us by someone we know, we should be suspicious, as he may have been swindled as well.
Check the URL. You can see that it's not the official one. How do we know which is the official Netflix URL? We open Google and in the search engine we write Netflix, it will appear in the first positions.
The logo they use is not the current one. This has to put us on alert.
Search in Internet if there are already webs reporting this digital fraud. You can check that, among other pages, the Internet Security Office already warns you.
Consult directly with Netflix through their official channels, for example, their social networks.

Pablo told us that for a time, he was writing with a Ukrainian girl he met through a famous contact page, very beautiful by the way, as reflected in the different photos he sent her during the time they exchanged emails and conversations with chat.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly, however the girl showed concern because she did not want to maintain a long distance relationship based solely on electronic correspondence. She wanted to meet him, she needed to see him in person to be able to walk together hand in hand, caress, kiss… something totally normal and logical. Until this moment, there was nothing to suspect what would happen to Paul later.
Pablo's “girlfriend”, taking advantage of the fact that he had 10 days off, asked him to visit her in Odessa (the city in Ukraine where he supposedly lived), and how could it be otherwise, Pablo agreed to visit her. He admits that he was hooked on that girl and was dying to see her.
How did you organize the meeting?
After buying the plane ticket, Pablo sent a copy of it to his girlfriend. She wanted to make sure he would actually visit her and it was not a joke. After this step, all that remained was to organize the accommodation issue. One possibility was to stay at her house, but apparently in Ukraine it was not welcomed for a woman to enter a hotel with a man, so she suggested renting an apartment in the city center. She would take care
to look for him, since he knew the city better, and to advance the money, making it clear that Pablo had to pay it when he visited.
Was there a girl and an apartment?
Pablo agreed to rent an apartment instead of going to a hotel, he really did not care, all he wanted was to see his cybernetic girlfriend in person and spend a few days with her, accommodation for him was secondary.
After traveling to the city of Odessa (Ukraine), his supposed girlfriend was waiting for him. How good! How exciting ! How glad he was to meet her! They did not speak many words, obviously the language did not facilitate any type of conversation. After understanding, they went to the rented apartment and that is where Pedro paid him the money for the stay for the 10 days that he was going to be there.
So where is the fraud in this story?
With the excuse of going to get her clothes, the girl left the house, in principle, in an hour she would return, however, Pablo spent the whole day waiting for her until nightfall. He tried to contact the girl, but nothing, there was no response. But the thing does not end there, the next day, the landlord of the apartment appears there and tells him that he must leave it, that there was only a reservation for one night, € 55. How! Pablo, as best he could, indicated that it must be an error, that he had a reservation for 10 days. And an instant later, he realized that he had been the victim of a full-blown deception. His supposed girlfriend had cheated on him in such a way that not only had he made him go there to visit her (very hard!) But he had gone a step further, he had "stolen" some money, making him believe that he had rented.
