Today,we have a famous historian, Junyi !<br><br>me: Hi everyone!<br><br>Host:I have a question for you,was there a Singapore before 1819?<br><br>Me: Yes,there was a Singapore before 1819.<br><br>Host: What is the evidence?<br><br>me: My research area was trading,and from my research, Gold ornaments from the 14 centuries was found from the fort canning hill,there was carvings of a Hindu god, Kala on it,which means that Singapore had economic connections with Singapore before the 1819.<br><br>From the letter from sir Stamford Raffles which mentioned that Chinese pottery was found before he came to Singapore,i can also infer that Singapore had economic connections with China before the 1819.<br><br>Sri Lankan coins before the 1819 was also found in Singapore,which means that Singapore have traded with Sri Lanka,and the coins are used for payment.<br><br>This means that Singapore not only traded with India,but also China and Sri Lanka ,this also means that Singapore was a busy port before the 1819 as Singapore traded with many other countries.<br>Thus,there was a Singapore before the 1819.</div>]]></description>
