Following WW2 the allies and the Soviet Union agreed to split Berlin between their control, East Berlin was controlled by the communist Soviet Union, although it had better education and opportunities people of East Berlin desperately wanted to leave the communist state and go the higher salaries and democratic ideas that West Berlin had, however the Soviet Union stricken-ed any freedom to leave the state with the construction of the Berlin Wall, which stayed this way for several years, where if anyone attempted to escape to West Berlin the guards were instructed to shoot on sight and not allow anyone through, that was until one morning when huge crowds began to attack the wall and the guards opened the gate in order to keep the order, however people began to tear down the wall and destroy it, which led to the Soviet Union commencing complete destruction of the Berlin Wall the following morning.

Boris Yeltsin Elected as President of Russia (May, 1990)

For the first time after the communist Soviet Union had fallen, Russia held its first presidential election in which Boris Yeltsin was elected, however at the last moment the Soviet party gathered several war generals together to attack and to stop the election, however the general people began to attack and stand on the tanks being used making a fool out of the Soviet party and its last stand, also when the soldiers were ordered to fire upon the people they refused and ended the revolt, Yeltsin disbanded the communist-dominated parliament and called for elections to a new legislature ultimately leading to the end of communism in Russia, Yeltsin was the last leader of the Soviet Union and the first leader of the new Russia.

Germany Reunited (October 3, 1990)
