On page 40, the author (who is representing the actual author in real life) explains a job he had, declotting pigs. In such explanation, he talks about how the before the pigs got to him, they were "decapitated, split down the length of the belly, pried open, eviscerated, and strung up by the hind hocks on a high conveyor belt.", which is also maximallism, because nobody wants to know what happens at a slaughterhouse. The next page describes the actual process of declotting, and according to the author,"you'd lean forward and swing the gun up against the clots Andy squeeze the trigger, all in one motion, and the brush would whirl and water would come shooting out and you'd hear a quick splattering sound S the clots dissolved into a fine red mist."
