now we are in 7'352'000'000, The population increases every second so probably the population will reach 8 billion in 2025 because:

We are about 7.500.000.000 in 2016.
There are 350.000 births and 150.000 deaths a day, so the daily growth is of 200.000.
To calculate when we will be 8 billion, we should multiply  the daily growth for a year, then divide the population we need to reach our target 
(8 billion-7.5 billion=0,5 billion) for it. 
 
200.000x365=73.000.000    growth in a year
8.000.000.000-7.500.000.000=500.000.000 population to the target
500.000.000:73.000.000=6,8   years we need to reach our target
 
We will reach 8 billion in 2023 ...and I hope I will be alive :- )
