Staff: Our Talk About It Tuesdays supports teachers by providing opportunities to socialize with other staff members. Every Tuesday after dismissal, staff walk outside around our ponds for about 30 mins or roughly 2 miles. Great opportunity for some fresh air as well.

*Jogging club has a large involvement of parents and students. We run this all year 2 X a week.

*Cafe does a good job with veggie of the week and we also have this on announcements.

Our students are also encouraged to participate in the healthy snack challenge.

Spring Staff Challenge (step challenge or biggest loser)

Our fruit/veggie of the week is super successful! Our students come in every Monday excited to ask what the fruit of the week is. They can bring in facts or jokes related to this fruit or if they bring this fruit for a snack any time in the week, we give them a few "patriot points"

We will also have a weight loss challenge in the spring.

We love the walk to school Wednesdays. We have a lot of families who walk to school and I think the students would get excited about that and it would be easy to implement.

We are having a Parent Involvement day. Parents and families are invited to come to their student(s) AMPE'd class to watch/participate in the "Thriller" dance that we are teaching. We will also be performing several other line dances, ex. Cupid Shuffle.

We will also do this during our Drum Fit unit.

The weight loss challenge is always a good one.

EZ Scan is also so simple to use and keep track of all the mileage ran.

Turkey Trot is a successful every year.

Many years ago, we partnered with Medical City Plano and the Biggest Loser competition.

We are helping the PTA organize a 5K Run at our park in the Spring. We are also inviting Mariner Merchants to sponsor sections of the track.

During daily morning announcements, students help committee members encourage others to try a new healthy snack for the week. We call it "Try It Tuesday".

Students will go outside for a walk along our trail around the park. 

Students will fill out & complete the monthly activity calendar for reward.

We are also doing a monthly healthy potluck to encourage staff members to bring something healthy for lunch or as a snack!

In the past we have included our counselor and a parent.

Students will work on setting goals for improving from the Fall FitnessGram to the Spring test. They will be open to trying different physical activities that will revolve around fitness.

The staff will be challenged and encouraged to drink more water instead of other surgery drinks.
