Brendan's Learner Self-Reflection Survey

A key aspect of constructivist knowledge building is reflection. In working with adult learners, we often don't give our students the opportunity to reflect on their own learning. I want to create an online survey through Google Forms that lets students consider their own learning styles, motivations, and study skills to form a greater understanding of themselves as students.

Students will be provided a URL for the survey and asked to complete the questionnaire on their smartphones. I will set up a projector and laptop to display the results in real-time.

As a class we will discuss the data to form a snapshot of our group of learners as a whole, and cultivate a greater sense of self and class understanding.

In Ontario, we are required to show evidences of learning from three different areas - products, observations, and conversations. It is often hard to find the time for individual conversations in classtime, so I will have the students record a conversation on their phones and upload it to google classroom. For example, I have had them do concept mapping on a whiteboard and then explain it on video.
