A quadrilha, também chamada de quadrilha junina, quadrilha caipira ou quadrilha matuta, é um estilo de dança folclórica coletiva muito popular no Brasil.
A dança em si representa a realização da festa de casamento. Essa tradição tem como objetivo homenagear Santo Antônio, o santo casamenteiro. Além do noivo e da noiva, outros personagens tradicionais fazem parte do roteiro da quadrilha: o padre, o pai da noiva, o juiz e o delegado.

The quadrilha, also called the Junina Quadrangle, the Caipira Quadrangle or the Matuta Quadrangle, is a style of collective folk dance that is very popular in Brazil.  This rustic dance is typical of June festivals, which usually take place in June and July in all regions of the country.

The dance itself represents the realization of the wedding party. This tradition aims to honor Saint Antônio, the matchmaker saint. In addition to the bride and groom, other traditional characters are part of the gang's script: the priest, the bride's father, the judge and the delegate.

Esta festa folclórica é criada num cenário de arraial, bandeirolas coloridas, flores, com quadrilhas e com instrumentos musicais como acordeão, zabumba e triângulo. Os personagens da celebração são: O noivo, a noiva, pais dos noivos, principalmente o pai da noiva, o delegado, o padre, o coroinha, alguma namorada do noivo e vários casais. Uma das variações para o rito da cerimônia começa com o pai da noiva entrando no altar com o noivo e forçando ele a casar porque engravidou a filha dele. O noivo tenta fugir, mas 🤬 acuado com o delegado que vigia a cerimônia e força o noivo a casar. O noivo quando vê a noiva no altar 🤬 encantado com a beleza dela e cede aos seus encantos. O padre realiza a celebração com sotaque caipira, enfatizando os nomes que geralmente são engraçados. No decorrer da cerimônia existem muitos comentários dos pais e sempre aparece alguma moça para impedir o casamento, mas tudo é solucionado e acaba em harmonia e alegria começando a quadrilha.

The rustic wedding is part of the celebrations of the Festa de São João held in June. They say that in the past, wedding parties with people from the countryside, called hillbillies, used to be held on St. John's Day for him to bless the union. One of the variations on the rite of the ceremony begins with the bride's father entering the altar with the groom and forcing him to marry because he impregnated his daughter. The groom tries to run away, but is cornered by the delegate who oversees the ceremony and forces the groom to marry. When the groom sees the bride at the altar, he is enchanted by her beauty and gives in to her charms. The priest performs the celebration with a rustic accent, emphasizing the names that are usually funny. During the ceremony there are many comments from the parents and there is always a girl to stop the wedding, but everything is resolved and ends up in harmony and joy, starting the square.
