The organization is continuing those organization's efforts and is dedicated to historic preservation, education, and outreach. In addition to helping various individuals and organizations with research and preservation planning, the Heritage Alliance oversees the Chester Inn State Historic Site and Museum, the Jonesborough/Washington County History Museum, and the Oak Hill School House. They also assist with the Chuckey Depot Museum, maintain an archival collection, and engage in community outreach and a variety of educational programming.
