Most involved in WWI, U.S included, thought that the slaughtering of Armenian Christians in the Ottoman Empire was a civil war. President Woodrow Wilson thought that the Young Turks actions were justifiable. Wilson said, the Armenians were an international security threat to the Young Turks. It is only today that some countries recognize these events as a Genocide. The Armenian Genocide will forever be known as the forgotten genocide.
