My Feelings have changed about kit because she is become a more responsible person. I say this because in the beginning of the book she is this self centered girl that cares about her dresses and not helping out and being lazy. When Mercy and everyone got sick something in her mind just was a spark it states on pg 181 paragraph 1 it states that she did what ever he wanted. Before she would've did something wrong and let Mercy do it but this time was different. Matthew started to think more of Kit like a humble woman. Another character i like now is Matthew Wood because there is more to him than a mean person. I know this because on chapter 15 Matthew was holding dirt so carefully. Kit was watching him but didn't recognize him. She thought all this time that he was a bad person but seeing this she sees a lonely man that needs comfort. Both of these people are truly growing up and I don't mean age I mean grown up in their essential mind and spirit

My feelings in this chapter changed about the characters, Kit and Matthew Wood. My feelings have change with kit because she has become a better person, because when she first stepped foot in the Wood's home she was very mad and annoyed. But now on chapter 18, she has changed because now that Judith and Mercy are sick, she has been helping out more, but not only because she has to but she wants to. Matthew has changed because in the beginning of the story, he was mad that Kit barged into his home with no warning. But now, when the angry mob of people on chapter 18 claimed that kit is a witch, he stood up for her by saying that no one talks bad things about his family.

One of of the characters I feel have changed is Kit. She has gone back and forth but first Kit was selfless when she saved the little girls doll. Once she got to the Wood's house, she didn't want to do any work and even would marry a man she saw once in her life (William Ashby) just to get out of it. Now, currently she has changed when Mercy had the flu. She did all Mercy's chores and made food and remedies so Mercy would not have to. Another person I think has changed is Matthew because he had never favored Kit, but when the mob came and accused her of being a witch, Matthew stood up for Kit. That is why I think Kit and Matthew have changed throughout the novel "The Witch of Blackbird Pond."

During the chapter my feelings toward Kit and Mercy have changed throughout the chapter. Kit was quite upset, because of the fact she was considered a witch and people believed she was strange. I can infer from this point of issue Kit has changed into a better person and became more responsible. The author explains Kit is more thankful and a better spirted person. Another the other hand Mercy has changed, because of the fact she is sick. Ever since Mercy became ill she feels bad, because she seems useless, because of the fact she can`t work and do her household duties.

My feelings have changed about the story and characters changed in this chapter. Kit has turned into a nice and caring person. Before, Kit used to be spoiled and very impulsive. Examples of her of being kind and nice is on page 204 paragraph 4 and ends on page 206 paragraph 2. The author states, Kit is glad and happy that Mercy is becoming less ill. She thought about Prudence and what they will do to her if they found out that she stays with Kit and Hannah Tupper. She thought she forced Prudence into meeting Hannah. If she got into trouble she was already starving, beaten, and overworked. She could've been helping Prudence in the Cruffs' field. Another example is on chapter 17. She helped Hannah Tupper escape from an angry mob because they thought she was a witch. If she didn't warn Hannah, Hannah would've died from the angry mob. She got Hannah safe with Nat to Saybrook. Now everyone thinks Hannah is gone. Before she used to be spoiled and impulsive is on page 8 paragraph 4 and ends on page 9 paragraph 5.She orders the captain duties to turn around the ship to get back the little girl's doll. Latter in the story, a woman told Kit that she did a bad idea swimming in her dress. She ruined her dress but, Kit doesn't care and told the woman that she has more clothes to use anyways. Kit is spoiled by that because she has so much clothes so that means she is rich.Kit doesn't have to worry about how much clothes she has left. She was still kind back in the other chapters. Another character that changed is Uncle Matthew. He used to be very angry at Kit. Now Kit saw his other side of Uncle Matthew. He defended Kit from the people that thought she was a witch. He cares for his family . Kit thought he was a vein dam that was always angry. Kit now saw Matthew as a nice, caring man. Another example of his soft side is Mercy. He really cares and loves Mercy. This information is on page 44 paragraph 5 and page 200-201 paragraphs 4-11.

My feelings toward Kit's character have changed in this chapter because Kit has had a major change. At first Kit was not welcomed and unusual in Wethersfield. Kit has changed by becoming a more giving and selfless person. Nobody liked her very much and people thought she was a witch. Kit had swam and she could float proving to the people that she was a witch. When Aunt Rachel , Judith, and Mercy became sick Kit put herself to the tasks of the household. On chapter 17-18 she made all the meals she drew water from the streams and washed all the clothing. Kit only helped people and dedicated her time to only help her family. On page 179, paragraph 4 E.G.S stated " The meal fell to Kit and she did the best she could with them, measuring out the cornmeal, stirring the pudding. She built the fire, heated the kettle of water for washing so Mercy might have fresh linen under her restless body." So, from this statement I can infer that Kit has become a more selfless person than in the start of the book. Another character that my feelings have changed for is Matthew Wood, Kits uncle. In the start of the book Matthew was a stern and complicated man. He had not even welcomed Kit into his household although sh needed help from him. He would never talk to anyone and he was always angry. He changed by standing up for Kit and Kit was proud of Matthew's change of character.

My feelings have changed about kit have changed in this chapter because in the beginning of the story, Kit was very different, and did things that make her stand out. For example, in chapter 1, she swims out to save a little girl's doll without thinking about the consequences. Now, Kit is very selfless. For example, in chapter 17, when Mercy was very sick, she was very worried about her, and, she took on her chores. My feelings have also changed for Matthew Woods because in the beginning of the story, he would not stand up for Kit even if she was in trouble, he would punish her if it was against his rules. Now, when someone accuses Kit of doing something, he would stand up for her. For example, in chapter 17, a mob came to take Matthew to go get Hannah. When the mob told him that Kit had been hanging out with Hannah, he said, "Begone from my house!"

For Matthew, I thought that at first he was going to be this stern man that never smiles because on pg 32 para. 2 Matthew said that Kit was welcome but his face looked like it had no emotion.Then as the story continued , I began to see that he did have a heart and that the whole reason that he was so stern was that he lost his two sons and some people don't know what that does to a parent. Also he defended Kit when the angry mob was at his door. The author states this on pg 81. My feelings towards Judith are still the same because she keeps acting the same. By that I mean that she always acts obnoxious and selfish. She is so mean that I wanted to slap her and say stop but I can't. The author states this throughout chapters 1-18.

My feelings for Kit have changed because in this chapter because she actually started to change. so did Matthew. They changed because in the beginning Kit did not help with any of the chores and she was a train wreck for the Wood family but now she is really helpful and Matthew likes that. Matthew changed because he opened up to Kit because she was being helpful. He even stood up for Kit in front of an angry mob of people. So Kit started to respect Matthew and Matthew started to like Kit a little more than before. Matthew still gets mad at her in the story and is still like the original Matthew, but he started to like Kit a little more than before. They both opened up to each other.

Emma: My feelings have changed towards Kit, because she became more helpful and caring. I know that she's more helpful because in chapter 7 Kit was assigned to do some carding with Mercy, and she agreed but in her mind she was angry and she was full of regret. However on chapter 17 she has been working so hard to help her family, because Aunt Rachel, Mercy, Judith caught the flu. I know this because Elizabeth George Speare states on pg. 181 paragraph 2 " Kit busied herself to prepare a meal which one of them could eat." But now on chapter 12, you can find that Judith was holding Kit's elbow along with Rachel, Mathew and Mercy. That was when they all,where in the field. So she was in a good mood. Also that time she was not sarcastic or self centered anymore. When the the angry people who wanted to kill Hannah and Kit Mathew stood up for her. But after they left Mathew was mean to Kit again. My feelings has changed about Kit because at the start of the chapter Kit was very inpulsive and mean. What came to her mind she would say even if the comment is really mean.On page 5 paragraph 2 the author states "What a child you are , Kit. Sometimes 'tis hard to believe you are sixteen." But over the chapters she became more helpful and nicer than the start of the chapter. On page 179 paragraph 2 the author states " She fetched water, and strained a special gruel for Judith, and spread her uncle's wet clothes to dry before the fire."

My opinion about kit changed because at the beginning of the book kit is very self centered and selfish and on chapter 17 shes loving and she is helping her family when there ill. The old kit would have not don anything and just helped herself but now she actually cares of other people besides herself . What I think this means is that kit is starting to mature and shes starting to act like a mother now.one person that I think will never change is Judith. I think she will turn out like good wife Cruff and have a shadow of a husband.

My feeling about the character in this chapter have changed because Kit has gotten a lot nicer because on page 186 she went all the way to Hannah's house to save her from the angry mob in the dark . Lastly she did not care for herself any more and decided to care for other people like prudence and Hannah tupper. My feelings changed for kit.I changed my feelings for Kit because in the beginning of the story Kit never did anything for anyone else and she was very selfish but at the end of Chapter 18 When Mercy got sick kit cared for mercy and she did everything to help Mercy because on pg.181 Dr. Bulkeley told Kit cook some onions and for Four long hours Kit labored all just for Mercy that means Kit relay cares for Mercy that is why on pg.193 when Nat asks kit if she wants to go with Him to SayBrook but Kit could not go because Mercy was terribly sick.Someone else that changed was Matthew because he really cared for Kit and we found out that he was relay kind on pg.183 The people who had come to Hannah told Matthew that kit was also a Witch so Matthew said "Begone from my house. My feelings on Kit have changed because she had changed.And on Matthew he started to get along with each other he used to be mean. For example, Kit used to do stuff just for everybody except for Matthew. She used to be so selfish.But now she isn't mean. My feelings changed about kit because in the beginning for the witch of black bird pond kit was like a mean selfish person because kit didn't care for any one in the first chapter. But on chapter 17 page 181 paragraph 1 when mercy got very sick kit kept the fire blazing under the iron kettle so mercy wouldn't be cold. Also on chapter 17 when the angry mob was about to kill the Hannah Tuper because they think that when there children got sick the mob told Matthew wood that there child was getting sick because of the witches curse. So the mob went to the witches home to kill the witch with fire, but when the mob was walking to Hannah's house kit found a short route to Hannah's house to save her. I can infer the kit change her feelings from being selfish to being helpful.

My feelings toward kit has grown. I like how she saved Hannah because the two had a good freindship. I like how kit was selfish but now she isn't. Now Kit is helping her family. Now I like Matthews character. When the mob wanted Matthew to join them to kill Hannah but Matthew said no. They wanted to kill her because the town people think Hannah is witch. But Matthew said no. That is a bad idea. The people also wanted Kit because the people thought she was a witch. Matthew said you think that one of my family members is a witch? That is why I know like Matthew and Kit.

Ivania-My feelings have changed for kit because when she first came to weathers field she was selfish.But in chapter 17 page 181 paragraph 1 The author states,"For 4 long hours kit labored at Dr. Bulkeley's bidding.She sliced onions ,blinking her eye's against the stinging tears".So she is now doing anything to help Mercy and not being so selfish.Another way she has changed is that when kit first got to Wethers Field she was not use to working,she was acting like a Queen,but later on she got use to the work and started working .My feelings have also changed towards Mathew Wood because at first he did not like kit at all.But in chapter 17 he sees that kit isn't so selfish so he starts to stand up for kit.Like it says in chapter 17 page 183 paragraph 8 the author states,"Begone from my house,He roared,his caution drowned in anger.How dare you speak the name of good,God-Fearing girl?Any man who slanders one of my family has me to reckon with!"So now Mathew Is starting to like the new Kit,and that is why he stood up for his family.So since they changed I like these characters more now then in the begging of the story.

As a result, Aunt Rachel says that Mercy is feeling better.
